Why I love Google

  1. OK, I have this chronic problem. I'm listening to the radio, usually waiting for my son to come out of school, and I hear an awesome song. Only I'm never in the car long enough to hear them rattle off the names of the last 42 songs they played. So I walk around, for weeks sometimes, humming this tune in my head. Occasionally I'll hear a piece of it on the radio again, but never what it's called.

So today we hear my current musical tormentor in the car, and I'm complaining that once again they're not telling me who it's by or what the name of it is, when my husband simply replies, "google it."

Well, it's that simple I guess.

I should have done this forever ago! The first hit told me the name of it and who it was by. Quite the time saver.

Just thought I'd share in case anyone is quite as psychotic as me.

OK, so what was the song?

Two, ask me...I'm a fountain of useless musical knowledge (hey, ya gotta be good at something).

Three, I can never get google to work for me. I use askjeeves.com. I like the idea of having a butler. How did you search it...did you know a few words and have it searched that way; I don't think you can hum at a computer to get the answer, but I may be wrong (hey, a few weeks ago I didn't know how to put a picture in a post!).

That's what I was wondering! Did you just put in some of the words, or look for the top 40 or something?

Google is a timesaver !! I use it all the time Heather, it's wonderful.

I use it all the time for images mkue - it rocks! That's where I find all that off the wall shyt I post. I had just never thought to use it for lyrics before!

As for the song, I remembered a couple of lines from the chorus and I just typed them in without punctuation or anything.

"why should I care cause you weren't there when I was scared I was so alone." ENTER. BAM! My song!

I'm a little scared to admit who it was.

Oh...new music; I'm outta that loop. If it's anything after about 1985, I'm not as good (although I've got that stupid song that goes "la la la, la la la la la, la la la...I just can't get you outta my head"...yeah, that's right, only a gunshot would get that song outta my head right now).

Heather, have you ever used askjeeves.com? I loooove that one; it's computer dummy friendly (well, then I guess you wouldn't qualify).

I've never tried lyric surfing on google yet ! We use it for research, maps, shopping, all kinds of school projects for my kids. The other night we needed pictures of Chimps so I did a search on google and found tons of pics, it really helped my sons presentation for class.

I love Google...I can usually find what I am looking for in an instant. Even looked up some stuff on a bacteria one day for a doc. (It was a really odd one, don't remember which one now.) Typed it in, and boom. There it was....

I use dogpile.com once in awhile...it gives several different options....
You know what's cool? I googled my username here, and some of my posts came up, along with my cake website!

    LYRICS!!! Definitely!!!
How many times do you "think" you know the words to your song?
Well if you type Lyrics and the name of the song you can find lyrics on line!
After you see the "real" words you might think, "Oh what I've been singing..."
