Why Didn't Anyone Tell Me About Rosanne Cash?

  1. Her new album "Rule of Travel" is fantastic! I'm not a country fan, but it's bluesy, country, rock, pop, folk all rolled into one and the lyrics are very well written. I remember having her album "Seven Year Ache" which is an awesome song and album, but that was over 20 years ago.

It was sad to hear she passed away.

Yes, it was sad....those that helped pave the way for other artists are slowly passing on....may there be others that can hold the same standards and forge forward, pioneering in their music like she and others like her did. I guess I never thought to say anything, Tweety. Sorry about that.

I know June Carter Cash died. Daughter of Maybelle Carter, wife of Johnny Cash, and granddaughter of AC Carter, who created the autoharp. The autoharp was to my knowledge the second American instrument. The Carter Family became VERY popular in the 1920s with "Will the Circle be Unbroken?", "Wildwood Flower", and many other songs. Still available on CD.

I hope I am right because I think Rosanne is still alive.

Johnny Cash and Charlie Pride are my uncles favorites.

You are right. I loved, loved, loved "Seven Year Ache".

Yep a couple are confusing her stepmom June Carter Cash who recently died, with Johnny's daugher Rosanne. I'm speaking of Rosanne Cash. Was sad about June Carter Cash though. Johnny seemed rather frail too.

I am not a country fan either but the minuete I read the name Rosanne Cash it brought back memories of her seven year ache album....I can still remember the words to most of the songs. Now I will probably be singing them all night. I think I would like to try out her new album. Thanks for bringing this to my attention

I was a country music fan for many years. But pardon my asking, who is Rosanna Cash? I'm assuming she is some relation to Johnny Cash? Never heard of her.

Dolly Parton wrote "I Will Always Love Yoy"
It's been #1 three times, most recently as sung by Whitney Houston.

Dolly once laughed after being called a 'dumb blond' saying, "I know I'm not dumb and I'm not really blond either!"

I guess I skipped over that bit of information. I still don't know who she is, or who June Carter Cash is for that matter.
