Why are men deaf?

  1. Ok, I know it can't just be me, my hubby has the tv so loud it just blows me out of the room. What's up with that? I fixed him good today, reversed the batteries in the remote and watched him have a fit trying to get it to work. I did not have the heart to tell him, so when he left the room I fixed it, sure did have a little laugh over this one.

That is so funny! He didn't think to check the batteries?

Did he remember he could get up and turn the TV on without the remote?

I keep a second remote hidden, so that when it gets too loud, I just turn it down as soon as he blinks. Gets him po'd, but he knows he won't win.

A couple of years ago, the tv (yes, I only have one in the house!) konked out. It happend gradually - it would work, then not work, etc. So I went shopping one day when my sweetie was out of town and bought a new tv, same size, comparable to the old one. It wasn't a big deal to me, and I didn't mention it to him. Well, the next evening he was here, and immediately looked for the remote. He sat down, flipped through the channels a few times, played with the volume for ten minutes or so, and then asked "Why did you get a new remote?"

"Uh, it came with the new tv." :roll

I laughed so hard, the cats hid! :chuckle

In my family, I'm the one who's deaf! I always have the TV sound up loud when I'm watching a movie. It seems like when two people are talking in a movie you can hardly hear what they're saying and you have to turn it up loud, then it cuts to a scene with background noise and blows your ears out. On TV also, when the movie is on, you have the volume at a comfortable level, then a commercial comes on, and it is so loud! I'm constantly hitting the volume up and down on the remote! Anyone else notice this??

The tv in the bedroom is like that. We have a newer one in the family room with smart sound that stops that blast from commercials.

Now that's funny. My dear man is very deaf when watching tv, makes me crazy. I think I'll try that trick...hehehe...

My wife says I am deaf for the same reasons and because of my selective hearing. We purchased a home theater system and I make good use of it. If I watch a movie, I want the theater sound effects. I spent $2k on it. The other reason are the kids, dishwasher, vacuum, dog, and the drowning out my sports.

Now we know who put the "bad" in Badbird. You are sooo bad. Did you ever tell him what you did?? You could really make him think that he is crazy doing stuff like that. What a great joke.

Maybe he's just trying to drown out some annoying or irrelevant noise.
