My favorite current comedy show is Will and Grace---Jack and Karen crack me up every time.

I do love the British comedies also---my favorite is Are You Being Served.

As far as individuals, I really like Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Cosby, Caroline Rea, George Carlin (rude, but funny), and Rita Rudner.

    Great thread!!!

My favorite current comedy shows are That 70's show and Friends.

Are You Being Served is pretty good too, though I have not watched it in years.

As far as comedians/comediennes go...hmm, George Carlin, Cathy Griffin, Bernie Mac, Chris Rock, there's this one lady that's REALLY funny, but I cannot remember her name! I know there are many more, but their names escape me right now.

...i would have to say my all time favorite comedians or comedic show was or is, the three stooges hands down!!!

growing up & even now, they make me laugh so hard. i know that they're silly , but their humor has always been good clean fun...i love them anyway...despite being a girl (most females i know hate them). i've watch them so much that i know all of their lines & they still crack me-up.

when i was a child, curly was my favorite stooge because he was so stupid & childlike; now as an adult, i've learned to appreciate shimp's comedic delivery even more...but moe has to be my ultimate favorite because he's such a bully...i love :kiss to see him get his from other people...lol !!!

i had no worries about my daughter growing-up watching them either...i'd explained that they're only using props & that they're only pretending to hit each other...she too just adore them.

besides all of the silly slapping that went on, they had one of the best comedic timing i ever saw. i love them way better than the marks brothers...i never get tired of watching the three stooges...they bring my spirits up whenever i'm down.

i also adore, the little rascals & our gang too...those kids were so talented & funny to be so young. the things they got into were too funny...i collect both series & when i'm feeling low, i just pop in a three stooges or little rascals tape & all woes soon vanish.

honorable mention...there's just too many to choose from...uncle arthur (paul lynde) from bewitched, the skipper from gillian island, the munsters, the honeymooners (flintstones), three company & car 54...where are you? as you can see, i watched way too much tv growing up!!! now i like to watch the bernie mac show & martin reruns.

as an adult-type comedian with all of the colorful vernacular (aka...profanity)...i would have to say that there's a three way tie between redd fox, richard prior, & eddy murphy...i was in heaven when they made that crazy a** movie called: harlem nights together...by far, that was the best eddy murphy film to date...it had a lot of modern day comedians of the 80's in it & it was super stupid, outrageous, & hilarious!!!

as far as british comedies are concerned, i would say there's another tie for my favorite show & it's between, benny hill & are you being served? mr. humphreys (sp?) is my favorite character on that show.

great thread ted!!! you've lifted my spirits up this am just by me thinking about my favorite comedians!!!

ps ted, now that we're talking about funny stuff...i'm still thinking about those jewels...you know which ones i'm talking about :roll!!! couldn't resist - again....heeeheeee!!!

i think those were donmurrays jewels that were the topic of discussion, weren't they?

anyhoo, i love stand up comedy. especially live. we have a comedy club in town. i've never even seen anyone famous there, but the live experience is great!

i don't think i could pick a favorite. for late night, i like leno better than letterman, but that changes every few years. actually, conan rules!

i know it's kinda corny, but my all time favorite comedy shows are three's company and golden girls. i don't care how many times i've seen them, i laugh every time!

great thread ted! you're really becoming the king of polls aren't you?

As an individual comedian I think Kevin James (from King of Queens) is hilarious, love his stand up specials on Comedy Central. I enjoy Will & Grace too, Friends, Ray Romano and Everybody loves Raymond.

I also love the comedic writing on the Gilmore Girls-although it's not a "comedy" Loralei say the Funniest things sometimes and they just flow with the show so well!

I especially liked his routine about the differences between men and women purchasing greeting cards!

And his routine about trying to open the car door while someone is still trying to unlock it... I peed my pants at that!

    O. K., Heather. . . at a risk of starting a "Flame War" here, I must say that David Letterman is by far. . . . BY FAR . . .the better of the late night talk show hosts. Leno stole that spot from Letterman!!!

I just can't get past Leno's chin. :chuckle :chuckle

    (Flame war here. . .???!!! )

Actually, Conan does rule!!! Love his edge!

Letterman used to have an edge to his show. . . now since he's more "prime-time" (admittedly) he's a wimp.

    Other comedy shows I like:

    The Simpsons
    Futuroma (sp??)
South Park (love South Park - The Movie!!!)

    also. . .

    Steve Martin
    George Carlin

    . . . will think of more, I'm sure!!

    Happy laughter, folks!!
