Who mows your lawn?

  1. Do you mow your own lawn? Does a spouse or S.O. do it for you? Or, do you contract the job out to a lawn care company or landscaper?

I occasionally mow my own lawn, although I am not good at edging. Sometimes I'll call the yard man to do the job during the late spring and summer months, as his price is reasonable to me ($25 for both the front lawn and backyard).

I am lucky I live next to Mr Greenthumbs who is nuts about his own yard and has been mowing mine while DH is overseas. Having a field out front doesn't bother me, but apparently bothers him, lol. He has even thrown fertilizer on it to boot. His wife is martha stewart as well , always coming over with freshed baked goods etc. What a great neighbourhood I live in! I would gladly pay someone to do it for me.

I live in an apartment, so I don't have to worry about that.

When I lived at home I or my dad mowed the lawn. After I left, my dad kept up with that for a while. Now that he's pushing 70 he has a lawn service take care of that, like almost everyone else on the block.

We have a lot of lawn, and next to no time. We hired a service to do it, and thankfully they do it well.

Hubby has spring allergies so I mow the one acre hilly lot in the spring and he mows during the summer.

Hubby mows the lawn and the dogs nibble (canine weedwacking) on the edges along the fence. I've also taught them to dig up weeds, but now the backyard looks like a minefield because they didn't understand the difference between grass and weeds :smackingf

communter if youu can get it done for $25 count yourself lucky..esp the during the heat of summer, while you are going to school AND working you deserve sitting at a window with a iced tea and a smile on your face

I have roommate right now, so we split the lawn mowing duties. I mow the back yard, and he pays to have someone come and mow the front yard.

When I lived in a two-income house, we had a yard man for $60.00 per month. Now that I'm single-income house living alone, I do it myself to save money. I'm not good with edging either. Hate doing it.

Edging? You mean taking the weed eater out and cutting the grass around the edge? That is so fun.

I mow the lawn. I taught all my kids to do it but I like to do it. My youngest stands in front of me and we push it together. Takes longer but he loves it.

I guess I figure I need the exercise.

I have a neighbor who has a lawn service for her postage stamp sized lawn. The service uses a riding mower . . . it is a huge deal to get this mower in to her yard. I could have the whole yard done with an old fashioned push mower before they get that huge riding mower off the truck.

LOL...you've got a good point, Dale. The summer days reach close to 100 degrees, so I really don't want to be working in the grueling sun. Hence, I occasionally pay the lawn care guy to cut the lawn while I sit inside, watch television, and sip on cold diet cokes.

Since I seriously lack manual dexterity, I have difficulty rethreading the weed-wacker when it runs low on thread. I've seen my dad do it many times, and he has attempted to teach me how to do the deed countless times, but I haven't been able to catch on. It looks so easy.
