Who is working Thanksgiving????

  1. Who works? Who will be home cooking? Anyone headed out of state? Do we have any hunters on board?

I will be in NC, hope to avoid cooking, plan to stay from Nov 22 to Nov 27. Will finish shopping for Christmas. Wish I could go to the beach.

I am off so I will think of my fellow bloggers who are stuck at work away from their families. In turn, you think of me on Christmas. (At my job, you usually work one or the other)

We divided our 24 hours up into "blocks" of being on call. I'll be on call from 5pm-9pm Thanxgiving evening. Shouldn't have many "must see" HH patients that day, but those we do have to see (ie.dsg. changes/wound care) we will divide up as well.. so I'm really not expecting to have to go out at all. Unless we get a new daily wound care pt. in my local area... so we'll see.

Since only dd is coming down this year, I'll keep my cooking light. Just doing a turkey breast this year... real mashed 'taters (are there any other kind?), crockpot green beans which I'll cook up the day before, frozen sweet corn, yams or sweetpotato casserole.. yeast rolls... stuffing and gravy. DD is making the pumkin pie to bring along.

We're also organizing the department buffet.

My dh is a hunter. But not this year. His mom and step dad are flying in from Wisconsin to spend Thanksgiving week with us.

I am not working Thanksgiving, but am working Christmas Eve. I don't mind; at least I will be home Christmas morning w/the kids to open gifts. Works for me.

Being a night-shift worker, things are a bit different for us.

Our Corporation mandates that the night shift Holiday is the Night Before. So..................... that means that Wed.nite is my Holiday. This is my holiday to work, so I work wednesday nite...................HOWEVER, since the fowwlowing weekend is my weekend off, I am taking two vacation days for Thurs & Fri nites, so I will have 4 nites off.
We are having my Mom for Thanksgiving Dinner, which we will have about 4 PM. She will stay until Monday AM.

So, that being said, I work Thanksgiving, but am off Christmas---------HOWEVER, again because of the nite before thing, I am off Xmas eve, but work xmas nite. IT"S SO CONFUSING!!!
We are having guests on Xmas Eve dor dinner.

New Tears Eve is just the opposite for me.

When you work nites, so much changes!!

Any of you other night shift people have the same thing--Holiday the nite before??????????

    I'm working Thanksgiving!

I wanna see if I can work Christmas and New Year's too

I don't celebrate these holidays and I'd rather someone who did celebrate them stay at home with their family if they wanted to
