1. My best friend is moving to Calgary in a week and a half!

Cameron and I have been friends for eight years. He is like a brother to me and my family has adopted him into my family. We're all having a farewell party for him on Sunday.

I've known that he was doing this for months. He needs to move on in his life and I respect that. He's working on his MSW and has transferred to the University of Calgary so that he can be with his partner. See I accept this and understand the logic of this but it still doesn't stop me from wanting to have a big old fashioned temper tantrum.

I need him! He's my friend, my brother, my sounding board, my sparring partner, my movie date! Calgary is a 14 hour drive away. I'm not taking this well at all.

I'm sorry to hear that your friend is moving so far away. But think on the bright side, it leaves a good excuse for a weekend road trip!

Sorry. My best friend used to be snowbird leaving every year for six months up north. Hated not having my buddy around.

We don't speak now because he fell in love with me, but that's another story.

I miss not having a best buddy.

I had to move from my best buddy. She is my best friend. She has been like a sister to me for soooo long. I have been gone for almost 8 years now. We are still very close. It can be done if you both put the effort into it. Before I moved I had about 5 close friends but she is the only one that put in as much effort as I did to keep our friendship alive.

have your tantrum ( a good one- lie on the floor and drum your heels!) then move on. my best friend moved to oz 20yrs ago and we still keep in touch by email. I still miss sitting and putting the world to rights with him but I have made other friends who mean just as much to me. sometimes you have to let go...........

Aw... hate that for you, Adrien. It DOES leave a hole in your heart.. an empty space...

Think of the various little adventures you each will get into apart from one another, and therefore ALL that you can look forward to sharing when you make the time to visit each other !

    Hugs to you. I know it's painful. (((( ))))

Man, that sucks. I can relate from painful personal experience. More than once this situation has happened to me. It just happened to me again within the last 3 weeks. It hurts BIG TIME. Losing your best friend is always extremely painful. Take all the time you need to heal as this is like an ending of sorts. If you need someone to listen, feel free to pm me. WW.

    Thanks guys!

Well me and my boy went to a silly movie last night (Freaky Friday -- we were surrounded by kiddies). Later today we are driving out to my parents place where we will spoil him rotten. We're all making his favorite foods. Friday I'm helping him clean his apartment and then .........
