Whether you like opera or not ... WOW

  1. Whether you like opera or not this is a must see!!

This is a story about a guy, a guy like most of us, common, questioning his existence,
measuring himself to others, Never believing in his abilities or his worth.
Then one day, his passion outgrew his fears as he stepped onto a stage,
A stage that took him to a place beyond his self imposed prison.

Watch the faces of the judges as this guy walks out on the
stage. You can almost see what they are thinking as they pre-judge this guy
based on his looks and the fact that
    he's a cell phone salesman.

Maybe this guy stopped believing in what people told him for so many
years and ultimately started listening to his passion.

Thank you so much for sharing this. He brought tears to my eyes. And, that one moment where Simon looked dumbfounded was priceless.

    Great, great clip!!

I hope he does VERY well in a singing career!

Zoe, here's a link to another clip from the same talent contest (possibly difft season), featuring a 6yo singing Somewhere Over The Rainbow.
Once again, Simon's reaction is priceless.
Doesn't hurt that Connie is a little doll, either!

BIG opera fan. ordered his cd friday and it got excellent reviews on amazon.com. few singers have the ability to give me goose bumps like he does.

i love the look on the judge's faces when he starts to sing.

Paul was here in Oz last week promoting his new CD.
He's had caps put on his teeth since being on that talent show! lol
He's such a sweetie. He and his wife have had it tough over the years and he deserves every success.

Paul Potts has been on the Today show several times, and I've been fortunate enough to have been tuned it and heard him sing there. What an amazing story, and what a voice!!! He is just awesome. I'm going to buy the CD this week. And I love the video of his winning performance; the judges certainly did not expect that!

I liked Connie what a cutie! You almost don't want to like her, "here's just another cute kid that mama thinks is great", lol...

Speaking of opera, anyone ever heard "La Mamma Morta" by Maria Callas? I first heard it on the movie "Philadelphia' (1993) with Tom Hanks and it is absolutely incredible. How does music for which you don't know the words make you sob?? It's like the music itself is the words... wild. Of course, the movie itself made me cry a lot - Tom Hanks plays a gay lawyer w/ aids who is discriminated against when his firm finds out. Hanks' lawyer is Denzel Washington.

No charge for the review lol

Callas was great and still is! Good choice! My preferences "the heavy ones" LOOOOL, Careras, Domingo, Pavarotti. The opera "La traviata" ever! My favorite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcKdnkGBSgA

Happy, happy, happy, life can be lived, cheers!
    Hugs all!
