Where has common courtesy gone???

  1. I was just at Walmart I had just got out to my car and was trying to load up a cart full of stuff, a baby and a 4 year old. I had no sooner gotten the door open and the first bag put in the car and this truck pulls partway into the open space. He proceeds to sit there tapping his hands on the wheel, even honked at me twice shile I was trying to hurry. I finally just gave up and pulled the cart out of his way as I was afraid he would try to squeeze on in with my babies in the cart still. :angryfire
THe thing was we were fairly close to the store I was only 4 spaces down from the front of the store, the spae dirsecty on the other side of my car was open and 4 more just as close behind us. Of course this would have meant he would have had to walk maybe a whole 8 feet farther.
I mean really what is it with folks today????

He's probably the same jack*** that won't let somebody change lanes so they have to go 2 streets past their exit

Karma...that's all I have to say :angryfire

Some people think common courtesy takes a lot of energy.

I also think it's certain areas. I just got back from an area that was just FULL of friendly people, courteous drivers, etc.

Imagine the culture shock when i hit I-95, I-287 after that week of 'friendly.' SHEESH :stone

I agree that there are some that think common courtesy takes too much energy. They haven't figured out that in the long run, common courtesy actually saves a lot of time, energy, and frustration. Let's face it, none of us really wants to even bother with someone if were being subjected to rudeness, however when someone is courteous and polite we tend to even go out of our way for them.

Wouldn't it have been nice Babynurselsa that instead of honking his horn Mr. Moron had offerred to help, or at the very least waited patiently.

The suggestion that Mr. Moron could help is a good idea.

Well I am almost sure that would have been a foriegn concept to him from appearances.
I will go out of my way to hold a door open for an elderly person or a mom toting kids, or ask someone if they need help if they are looking lost.
They aren't even things I have to think about I just do them. I guess it is just the way I am programmed. It just blows me away when it seems like someone goes out of their way to be rude.
Though I did have to resist the urge to go and park my cart right behind his truck when I got the kiddos loaded into the car. :chuckle j/k at least not with the kids with me anyway. I don't want to set that kind of example for the wee ones. I hope that my kiddos will grow to be caring and courteous, it has worked with the older ones.

I'd post a picture if I had it but a bumper sticker on my rear-bumper proudly says "Keep honking. I'm reloading"

I agree that it has a lot to do with how you're programmed. You don't have to be very ncei and polite to people but the least you can do it atleast not be obnoxious and rude :stone

Well we can all be thankful that Mr. Moron is (probably*) not a nurse and that we don't have to deal with him as a co-workers on a daily basis.

*How many nurses do you know who exhibit such and impatience and lack of respect?

Stuff like that burns me up too. I can't understand it either. If he were in your shoes, would he want someone honking at him?! I don't get it. It makes you wonder what kind of parents he had, to forget to teach him manners, politeness, and just plain old common courtesy.

I have one of those, also.

It covers the "If snowbirds are in season, why can't we shoot them" bumpersticker that used to be prominently displayed there.
