Rofl I graduated LONG after capping was made history. Never wore them, glad not to have. We WERE however, pinned. It was in Oklahoma in 1997. I was overjoyed to receive my pin and gladder still, to be done w/school for a while.

Graduated 1989 from University of Tennessee. No pinning or capping ceremonies. Just a regular graduation. And like SmilingBluEyes, I was glad to be finished. I can honestly say that they could not possibly have been glader to see me go than I was to get finished.

Sinclair College -- March 1987. Proudly wore the nursing cap, had the pinning ceremony, and marched with the entire college's 1987 graduating class June 1987. Miss those days, and look forward to more college days in my future.

HEMSPN-Salem, Ohio. August of 2002 class. We had a pinning, but no capping ceremony. We just had to buy them and wear for graduation.

No cap, did get a pin. I still wear my pin on my uniform...several of my patients recognize it as being the Lutheran pin-the college merged a couple years ago with an university....

University of Louisiana at Lafayette (formerly U. of Southwestern La.) December 2001. We were pinned at graduation, but no caps. My girlfriends and I did buy caps to wear (for laughs) for some of our graduation pictures. I wear my pin on my scrub jacket every day (unless I'm running late and forget it).

Cap and pinning ceremonies for both. Rites of passage something to look forward to. Wore my pins daily while in hospital and homecare along with brass name tag Uncle gave me as graduation gift. Still have both.

SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome (Utica, New York) - 1997 for the Bachelors Degree. (Just a regular graduating ceremony.)

Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) - 1982 for the Bachelor of Music Degree . . . which kind of got me into nursing in the first place . . . . :stone
