What's Your Best Nursing Book?

  1. Help Please! Taking a RN Refresher course and need to get a care plan book, lab book & drug guide book. Any ideas on the best book and Author? Also, does anyone use 'dimensional analysis' to solve their drug calculations? Thanks Guys!

Mayo, did you post on Student Nursing Forum? You would probably get a lot of ideas there.

I like Nursing 2003 Drug Handbook, I buy a new one every year. I also have Portable RN from Springhouse Publishers. You also might be interested in buying a "Fundamentals of Nursing" text, latest edition to keep you up to date.

Don't really use careplan books so I can't help you on that one. Good luck and welcome back!

What do I refer to most often?

Being an info junkie it's hard to narrow it down.

Palliative care manual. A publication of the Victoria Hospice Society, Victoria British Columbia. Wonderful resource on symptom control.
