What's the wackiest thing you've done for $$?

  1. I get bombarded daily with new clinical trials ... take this med, vaccine, etc and earn $$$ over ## weeks. There was one I just saw this morning that was $600 for three weeks.

I also just found out that the female surrogates get $50 per inspecting nursing student for pelvic exams.

So, who does these? What other wacky ways are there for earning some $$? What is the wackiest thing YOU've done to earn some dough?

I have never done anything like that for money but it reminds me of Lewis on the Drew Carey Show. About the wackiest thing I ever did was work a 20 hr. shift.

Well my nursing job's pretty wacky. Playing make believe with the alzheimer's folks is definately a skill among skills.

Oh yeah, I once earned $25 for rating music for a local radio station. That was actually kind of fun. I bashed all the boy bands and dance music.

20 years ago now as a student nurse I signed up for a gastroscopy trial. It was studying the effects of analgesia on the gastric lining. You couldn't have sedation so as not to affect the trial!!! I had only one as I had gastric erosions, gotta remember I was a student nurse and was in my partying days So I wasn't eligible to take part..damm shame!!
My girlfriend did the whole series, something like about 20 from memory. Have no idea now how much we got paid anymore..one wonders was it worth it but WE WERE BROKE!!

    I've sold my blood.
I played guitar on the street.
I was a fruit tramp (cherries, pears, apples)
I picked "baby's breath" for money.
I planted pine trees in the Mts.
I gathered Elk antlers and sold them to the Koreans (was really good money).
I played in a bluegrass band.
I picked shrooms in Wash. (but didn't sell them-just gave them away for x-mas presents).
Actually I did so many different things I didn't have my first "real" job until I was maybe 25. Thats when I moved to my first city and took on a job as a nursing asst.
Hey, the record was sealed when I turned 18, so I don't really feel it's pertinent. :chuckle

Edited to add a laughing smiley, in case anyone thought I was serious.

Shoot maybe it's time to switch schools--the only people continuously trying to hit me up for anything is one of our sad sororities

I'm always broke--where do I sign up Kitty? :chuckle

    for study of antiviral medicines.

Adults (age 18-50) who are healthy, and on
    no medications are needed.
Volunteers will e asked to take FDA-approved
antiviral medications by mouth for about
3 weeks, and to give blood and urine samples
at various times during the study.

    Compensation of $600.

Hmmm... can I do without my b/c (aka happy patch) for 3 weeks? :chuckle

The craziest thing I ever did for $$$ is I ran down main street naked and went to work naked. I am joking of course.

Hosnestly, it was signing my life away by filling out the application to apply at the LTC as a CNA. The crazy thing is, I still line it.

Wade thru ankle-deep chicken crap gathering eggs by hand, most of the day for 20 bucks.
My non-nurse friends would say digging out impactions...thankfully I don't see that in ob...yet...

After moving out of my parents house, I was SOOO broke! I didn't want to let them know that they were right about not being able to make it on my own so I sold my plasma(also got free juice and a twinkie..LOL). Had to quit when I had a reaction to the anticoagulant used during the process.
