What's In Your CD Player Now?

  1. It's been a while since I played this game. Tell me what is in your player now? (At home and in the car)

I've noticed I've got a lot of UK music I'm listening to at the moment. Elbow, Snow Patrol, PJ Harvey and Keane. My favorite is Keane, but as always PJ is good.

North Americans that I've got recently are Avril Lavigne which I haven't heard yet and Carly Simons new one that spans her career of hits.

On the jazzy side I've got Jamie Cullen (another Brit) and the 14 year old Rene Olstead which is a great CD for a kid.

I'm looking forward to getting the new CD by the Corrs (Irish) that just came out here this week.

The reason I'm mentioning nationalities is because I find it so interesting that while UK artists tend to bomb here (tell me why Robbie Williams isn't a huge star here?)(the last British invasion being in the 80s), I seem to be very partial to UK bands and artists. Thank goodness for the interet (or maybe it's my curse as I spend too much money) that I can find music I like because the radio certainly isn't helping. But good music is good music regardless of nationality. Now I'm rambling.

Now your turn, what's in your CD/tape player???

Believe it or not that was their third album. They never released their first one stateside, but their second one got a release and bombed. Their second release was a huge international success earning them superstar status in Ireland and abroad. It was their third release with "Breathless" that got them a little success here. I'm a huge fan of the Corrs, got a couple of DVDs by them too.

    Love those old school tunes.

Don't you just love the Maroon 5? Great CD.

I adore Stevie Nicks, and have all of her stuff as well. Hope she goes back on tour soon.

The last Matchbox 20 came out in November of 2002. "More Than You Think You Are". There was an EP that came out later that had some live and accoustic songs on it and one new song. But "More Than You Think You Are" is still getting radio airplay and is a great CD if you don't have it, but it's not "new".
