What's in your CD Player Part III

  1. I'm listening to the new Bonnie Raitt for free, as I've ordered it through Amazon. It's great as always.

In the car I'm listening to the dance remixes to 8th World Wonder by 3rd place 2004 American Idol contestent Kimberly Locke.

The new Carly Simon standards CD (her 4th in this genre) is awesome. Hard to believe she's 60. Yikes.

The living room CD player has in it Matt Nathanson and it's a good album.

So watcha listening to right now or just listened to?

Deborah Cox - Remixed and the last QAF Soundtrack is in my car. In my office, I have some classical collections, and in the living room stereo are some standards. My new favorite is one by Dana Owens (Queen Latifah!). And I never get tired of listening to Michael Buble and Renee Olstead (she's what...16 now?).

Don!!! I love the Deborah Cox Remixed CD.

Also I adore Michael Buble. Renee Olstead is good. I haven't heard the Dana Owens yet, but I like that jazzy style, so I'm sure I'll like it.

I have "The Mamas and the Papas" CD in my car. Also, the full "Queen" CDs. Been listening to mostly the oldies.

I saw "Shaun of the Dead" the other day and was turned back on to "Queen" and went out and bought their entire collection......

Hey, I am looking for the "Prince" song "Seven" and cannot find it anywhere....

I know! I love "Starting with You" on the Remixed album. She really should be better known.

And the "Dana Owens Album" will surprise you; I think it's wonderful.

Don, it seems only gay men appreciate Debaroh Cox. LOL She was to be Clive Davis's next Whitney Houston, and he made a couple of good albums with her before he got the boot from Arista. She has an amazing voice. Right now she doesn't have a contract and is doing broadway I think.

Thanks for the Dana Owens recommendation.

She and Whitney even did a duet some years ago (Same Script, Different Cast, I think...?) and I do believe she outsang Ms. Houston (who, admittedly, is very talented herself.)! You are so correct; Deborah Cox has an amazing voice.

Do you remember another singer (back in the 80's) named Karyn White? Another phenomenal voice that no one ever heard. She got some play with "Secret Rendezvous". No one I know has ever heard of her!

Yep, I remember Karyn White, did she sing "Romantic"? or was that someone else.

Siri, I go retro all the time. Just yesterday I listened to a bunch of oldies on the way to the bowling alley which is a 30 minute drive.
