What was your wedding song?

  1. Ok, I heard my wedding song on the radio this morning which made me wonder what songs you all had for your weddings. Mine was "Always and Forever" by Heat. And yours?

I have no idea. The pastor that married us told us that if it would help he would speak to the church organist about playing at our wedding. He did that and my parents paid her and I never even met her. There is a distant picture of her in one of the church photos.

The traditional wedding march was replaced with the march from the movie, The Dambusters, set to the words of the 46th Psalm: "God is Our Strength and Refuge." The first dance song at the reception was Lou Armstrong singing "Be My Life's Companion" (and we'll never grow old). The finale was "Moon River", also Armstrong's version. "Two drifters....off to see the world....there's such a lot of world to see...we're after the same rainbow's end....waiting 'round the bend...."

Gawd, tearing up just thinking about it! [sniff] Gotta go find that tape!! 11th anniversary coming up this month!

All my "Wedding Songs" were from Princess Diana's wedding played on Bag Pipes. It was a real show stopper for my husband's southern family.

The song we danced too was "Save a Prayer", By the one, the only, the greatest, most FAV BAND EVER......Duran Duran!!!

    haha. Love the 80's

    "Torn Between Two Lovers"

    :chuckle

    (Just kidding!)

We didn't have a "wedding song". . . We had "Wedding songS"!

Because of a "lack of funds" and because I already owned a complete sound system, we just put a bunch of our favorite music on cassette tapes and played and danced until we could boogie no more! I was the groom and DJ at the same time. . . and LOVED every minute of our wedding party!

    Cheers!

Our was from the movie Pete's Dragon...."I'll be your candle on the water". I think the vocals were Anne Murray. People often get confused thinking the Elton John song, but this one is a cute little song...I'll be your candle on the water, my love for you will always burn.......
So pretty. Going on 7 years!
