What was the worst gift you ever received ?

  1. I thought this would be a fun thread, the worst gift I ever received was a hamburger cooker from my ex-mother in law, it did not come in it's original box, just a shirt box and did not have the cord to plug it in, what do ya think, did she go all out for her new daughter in law, LOL !!!

I got an electric can opener once. It wouldn't have been so bad but at the time I was living in a house without electricity.
When I finally moved to a house with electricity the can opener broke the first time I tried to use it. Maybe I just didn't know how to use it.

Rusty what a scream of a gift when you had no electricity! I have not gotten the yucky gift yet but my hubby said he wants to buy me pans for my holiday gift! I cook 99.9% of the time and need new ones but I don't want them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want something else LOL. I guess I will like them if he gets them for me. LOL.

This is a no-brainer for me. My inlaws made such a big hoopla about getting me something for Christmas. When I opened the present, it was a set of salt and pepper shakers. Not anything, fancy, mind you. But, something that looked like it was from the dollar store, cheap plastic made to look like ceramic and all. I have never been not impressed with a gift until then.

Remember when cabbage patch dolls were in and people were paying $100+ for them? Well.... that year I went to my stepgrandparent's house and I got a stick figure Chinese doll and the other grandkids got cabbage patch dolls.

What is it with the can openers?

My EX who was my spouse at the time gave me a can opener. He thought it was funny. I saw no humor in it whatsover. In fact, I think that was straw #25 contributing to my divorcing him.

The worst gift that I ever got was poop. Seriously. It was poop from some animal that was molded into the shape of some other animal, it was suppose to fertilize a flower garden. Where I live, there is snow on the ground from October to April so why would I get poop for chirstmas- I have no flower garden in December, so the poop had to sit in the garage all winter and when the snow melted, I forgot about it so I never did use it!!!

Hubby's grandma got me this outfit a couple of years ago. It was denim material, but it was purple. The shirt was actually like a shrunken jean jacket with buttons up the front. It had gold studs all over the front of it.

The scary thing is, I took that thing back and got $100 for it! She spent $100 on that hideous thing! Hubby made me try it on and took my pic in it.... I'll have to see where I hid it!

Other than that, my grandma once got me a Billy Joel t-shirt in the height of my burn-out heavy metal phase. Had little piano keys down both of the sleeves.
