What to type the guy who delivers the paper...

  1. I get an xmas card every year from the paper guy, with his/her address. I presume, I'm supposed to send some cash. I usually give $20.00. Is this appropriate? What do you guys do?

5 bucks is all I ever give the guy, and he seems glad to get it.

10% of your subscription cost if he or she is a great paper carrier, less if the paper gets wet in the rain/snow or lost in the bushes.

Most people give their postman a christmas bonus/present and he is just doing his job too.

Maybe I'm not as generous as I've thought.

We give our paper boy $10 every year. We don't get a card with their addresses, but they're always kids. We just put one of those money holding envelopes in the paper box with their name on it (if I know it). I'm sure they appreciate it. Delivering papers doesn't pay much, and I appreciate that the kids do a good job.

We have a box for our newspaper since we live in the country and it is delivered by a "route driver".. so we (I) usually wrap a sausage/cheese/crackers combo and give the same to the Mail person. Sometimes I rotate with a NUT combo.

My parents give $, their newspaper is delivered to their doorstep and I think they give around 10.00 not sure.

I don't think $20 is out of line if he is a good paperboy.
We don't get the paper but we have a housekeeper and we give her something good every year.

I have a different mailman every week, so none of them are getting anything!
