what to do, what to do... dilemma ???

  1. Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh...

Sitting here for the past hour with my second cup of morning coffee and listening to the birds greet the new day outside my bedroom window, I now contemplate what to do with my well deserved day off...

Laundry is in the washer and ready to be hung out (wheeee!!!), beds are made, the house has been tidied up (oh yes, all that was done after my first cup as the sun was still barely rising... )

So now that the day is MINE all MINE, let's see..

I could spread out my lawnchair in the back and turn on my favorite tunes... or... I could grab my radio and go to the backyard and kick back in my lawnchair... or... I could take my lawnchair and radio and head to the backyard...or...

uh.. gee, did I mention the sun is shining, the skies are a brilliant blue, and that I might just do absolutely NOTHING today but hang out in my own backyard.. with radio and lawnchair?

I know.. don't feel too sorry for me.. afterall, tomaorrow I have to roust myself up for a full day of tubing down the river again.. durn ! Wish I could have just a LITTLE fun in my life !

    Tubing sounds like fun!

    Haven't been tubing in. . . decades!

    (I feel so freakin' old!)

    One thing I'd do during my day off and while the sun is shining is . . . is. . . is. . . watch t.v.! No. . . play on the computer. . . .no. . . . Do indoor chores. . . . HECK, NO!. . . . Do OUTDOOR chores. . . Double-Heck NO!. . . .

Spend the day lounging outside reading a cool book or magazine, letting the cool breeze gently blow on my face, and sipping on a cool, refreshing iced tea!

    Oh yea!

Too bad it's overcast outside with threats of rain showers here. . . .

    Enjoy your day off!

OK, OK... after much deliberation and soulseeking, not to mention some serious armtwisting by the above posters.. I have made my decision...

I'm headed out to the backyard armed with radio, lawnchair and I'll even take along my "learning Spanish in ten minutes a day" book !

    WooHOOOOOO ! Catch y'all later !

I had a day like that today.
First, I went to the beauty shop for some pampering. Then, went out to lunch with two cousins.

    Wrote two letters to friends.
Phoned two out of state friends.

Phoned my sister to plan a 3 day visit next weekend.

Went for a one hour walk thru the neighborhood and took pictures of some great "front yard" flower garden spots....ideas to remember by way of photographs..... to implement in my garden...

Shopped at the mall....where the beauty shop was.....has anyone noticed the clothes are back in the '60's ?
In one store, I thought I was in a time warp.....total 60's. It was fun.

And last, stopped at Cracker Barrel for some cute birthday and "thinking of you " cards.

They have some really GREAT T-Shirts in there at $12.99 and very nice free gift wrapping. I bought 9 t-shirts for gifts...., they wrapped all nine separately with a smile........,

then I sat in a rocker on their front porch and drank a glass of iced tea and people watched for about 30 minutes .....
and saw something that I thought was very humorous....but that's another thread...

And, lastly, stopped at Blockbusters and picked up Jerry Maguire...I want to see Renee Zellweger in one of her first movies, since I enjoyed her so much in Bridget Jones Diary and in Chicago....

And, now I'm winding down with All Nurses....

Any day above ground is a great day !!

And, tomorrow it is off to work to replace the $$$ spent.

I am happy to have a job, be able to work , and happy to think of my gift recipients ........... just a t-shirt and a card and a note,
...............but, it will bring happy vibes to nine sweet people.
