    PURE porn....

I myself like gossip magazines--People, Star, all the ones that you know are lies but we all like to read anyway....

I love People, only way I seem to keep in touch with the world... I also look at my husbands Truckin magazines, and the Nursing 02

As far as books,,,,, right now they consist of Nursing school books... But when I do have free time I usually like horror/mystery books (Anne Rice, Stephen King)... I also like law type stuff (John Grisham rocks) But right now I am actually trying to read the 2nd Harry Potter book before the movie comes out..

For magazines: Conde Nast Traveler and Travel and Leisure, Time and Newsweek. I am also unfortunately helpless in the face of my InStyle addiction. Also People, and any magazine that promises to dish the dirt about "the best (and worst) fashions at the ______ Awards!"

For books--I think this thread pretty well covers it!

I enjoy reading People, Instyle, Southern Living and Runners World.

For books I too like John Grisham, Maeve Binchy...just plain old fiction. I am currently reading "Give Me My Father's Body". Which is an historical book about Eskimos that were brought to New York City by Robert Peary in the late 1800's and the struggle of one of the Eskimos after he was orphaned, written by Kenn Harper. Not a type of book that I normally read but I am finding the story very interesting.

I'm afraid I'm a compulsive reader. Mags we get now (and I do read 'em) are: Smithsonian, Archaeology, Archaeology Odyssey, Nursing 2002, Guideposts, The New Yorker . . . I WILL read almost anything put in front of me: Better Homes and Gardens, House Beautiful, Redbook, Family Circle, People, newspaper, TV Guide, ANY comics . . .

I really don't read a lot of magazines....just books, but when I do buy a magazine, it's usually always Essence, Ebony, and/or People Magazine.

The books I read all come from Crossings.com which is a Christian Book Club I belong to.

I like Instyle, People, different home magazines...

I like to read scary books too, Julie :chuckle I like Stephen King books, Mary Higgins Clark, and another one that I can't remember the name of I'll have to go find that one...

I'm actually reading Eve's Daughter's by Lynn Austin...I fall asleep after a couple pages so it will take forever but it is good! My friend works at a bookstore so we pass around books and read them when she finds good ones

I've gotten in the habit of spending too much time on the computer lately and haven't been reading

I use to have a small group of ladies on my unit at the nursing home and after lunch we'd get together in the hall outside of their rooms and I'd read O'henry to them... I really love the O'henry stories, they were quite short and easy to keep their, (and my) attention... If the story was too long then I'd end up reading to myself as they would be snoozing.............

Really sweet, Giuseppe (I think my ladies would love you!)

    I am a magazine addict.

Instyle, Marthastewart (poor, poor Martha), Vogue, Marie Claire, RealSimple (love that one), Gourmet, Grace, Vanity Fair (I prefer the meatier magazines), Harrowsmith. Whatever else catches my eye.

As fot novels, I'm a pretty picky reader. Prefer contemporary vs. classic. Like my books to be quirky and whimsical (hard to tell till you are into the book).

Magazines... the Smithsonian...and leaf through Science News and Scientific American which my husband subscribes to and read the bits that catch my interest. I'll page through the decorating and women's magazines if I come upon them in a waiting room or something, but I don't subscribe.

With books I tend toward mysteries...right now am enjoying the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series.
