What laundry products do you use?

  1. I was just throwing in another load of laundry in the wash (never ending here) and was wondering what brands of detergent and stuff everyone uses and why. We were getting the Sam's brand in the big tubs, but I have been sneezing so bad lately that we changed over to All Free. Been happy with it so far. And I just found Downy softner that has no scent either. I seem to be getting more intolerant of fragrance the older I get. I also use a scoop full of Arm & Baking Soda in my husband's and sons' dirty barn clothes. We have a dairy farm and those clothes get stinkin' pretty bad sometimes. The baking soda seems to help take out some of the smell. What products are you using?

...another late night laundry do-er...no better way to spend Friday night :chuckle On the menu tonight...All, fresh rain scent & Downy, outdoor fresh dryer sheets.

When I can get my hands on it, from my parents who buy it... I love Amway pretreater and SA8 detergent...good stuff & reminds me of laundry from home

Our washer and dryer go constantly, I kid you not. In almost 14 years of marriage I think we are on our 3rd washing machine and our 2nd dryer. I have to put everything in the dryer because of my allergies. I do air dry a few things over an inside line dryer, but that is about it. Everything else in the ole' dryer. We probably do at least 3 loads of laundry everyday, 7 days a week. I stay up many a night and run several loads through and then fold them the next day. I hate putting the laundry away. Not sure why, just do.

    My washer goes constantly too....

Generally we use Tide and Downy fabric softener (but not in the Downy ball, I just pour it in at the appropriate time).

    My laundry always smells fantastic.

I mostly use Tide and Downy. I find that there are no substitutions.

I lust after my parents new frontloading washer and drier. I live in a stinkin' apartment block and have to use the stupid coin operated machines. Always volunteer tot do their laundry when I visit. Satisfying.

Regular cheer, toss in a scoop of oxyclean with the whites now and then. Add about a tablespoon of bleach to the towel load sometimes when they get a bit sour.

What I wouldn't give for a washer and dryer of my own (I live in an apartment). Love to do laundry late at night, but wouldn't visit the dungeon then if you paid me in chocolate!

I have asthma problems, so really strong scents are out. Usually use Era or Surf, and downy sheets, without a problem. I've tried some of the tablet powders that you throw in, but in the junky old machines here they usually don't dissolve well for some reason.

This is a good topic !! I've learned a lot from reading the posts. My husband had a continuous rash and itching and I think it was from Cheer or Tide. I like the dark clothes to be bright so I used cheer. We don't have a lot of stains so don't want something really strong. I'm switching to the "free" stuff ! Thanks

I use Tide products as they put $$ in my Upromise account that helps pay for nursing books. We wash a lot of clothes. But since Nestle also puts money in the Upromise account, we eat a lot of drumsticks
