    To the monitor. If you find the subject of this thread too extreme you could change it to maybe "what kind of person would do a thing like this". I was a bit overwhelmed when I first read the article and now the title I gave the thread seems a little over the top.

    A very mentally troubled woman, no doubt. I can't imagine what a horrifying ordeal is was for the pregnent woman. Thank God she and baby are going to be ok.

    Definitely a monstrous crime - unfortunately it's not without precedent. I'm hoping that some of our psych nurses here can shed some light on the psychology of someone so desperate for a baby that she resorts to such a barbaric act. :stone

    From the complex web of deceit this woman wove I would think she was border line but I really don't know.

    I've heard about this type of thing happening in the past. There was even a movie made (Kate Jackson starred in it) in the 1980's that sounds very similar to this, except Kate Jackson was a NURSE (pretending to be pregnant) who was acting as a midwife and planned to take another pregnant woman's child. Yucky stuff!

    Yes, I saw this similar situation where a nurse was the one stealing the babies in the lifetime channel. How sad.
