Are you in sync with the rest of your local population?

Nope - I don't ever hear anyone refer to a soft drink as a "pop" as the map states. Around here, it is called a "Coke" - whether it be a Diet Dr. Pepper, a Pepsi, or actually a Coke.

It's the same thing here in fl. but it is a melting pot here so we also hear alot of "pop" and "soda" with a strong accent . I just moved from TN. a yr. and a half ago and everyone called all carbonated drinks "coke" or "cold drinks". Each to his own

I call it soda--did when I lived both in CA and in Hawaii and Rhode Island--in Nebraska and Oregon, they call it "pop." In Peoria, where I spent part of high school, they call it "sody." My friend from Texas calls it "soda water."

I say soda, which is the popular choice of both where I live and and where I grew up. But I was hoping to be different. I love being out of the maintstream.

They call it 'pop' in Oregon, where I live.....but I'm originally from southern California, where it's called 'soda', which is what I call it. Interesting map.
