what is the weirdest thing you ever did for money?

  1. i was wondering what the weirdest thing you guys ever did for money or possessions or respect was?
*in nursing school (i was soooo poor) i once rolled in snow in my bra and undies for a half pack of cigarettes.
*also in nursing school, another student and i both spotted a quarter in an oil spot in the parking lot at the same time and wrestled over it.
*i ate a soft taco from taco bell in one mouthful on a bet for a dollar.
*when my sister and i were little, i told her i would give her respect if she could climb up and over the homeplate fence at the little league diamond where we played (about 15 feet high).

I was 11 years old. My 16 year old brother me promised me a dollar if I would go into the local police station lobby and buy a pack of cigarettes from the vending machine. So there I went, walked straight in, and in full view of the front desk officer I put in the quarters and got a pack of Marlboros. Then rode off on my bike. He gave me the dollar after I gave him the cigarettes.

I always knew you were a little stinker!

Remember the movie "Indecent Exposure" with Demi Moore and Robert Redford? Well....let a millionaire ask me for a night with him for a million dollars, and I'd never have to work again. Of course, he'd have to prove he is in good health and disease free first.

When I was 12, my Dad gave me $2 for each tablespoon of pepper sauce I drank without drinking anything else for 2 minutes afterward. I only made $4 before my mother noticed and put a stop to it.

I used to gather elk antlers for a living. Hard work but good money. I once walked across shards of glass barefoot for $20. I dove headfirst into the Yellowstone River from a 100' bridge for $50. I ate a snake for free (not bad tasting either).

Worked as a Shooter Girl (SHOOTER not the other word!) at a bar. Made 50% commission for shots i sold, all i had to do was sweep the room every 30 minutes with a tray full of shot glasses to make $300/night. It usually took 5 minutes to make the round, the rest of the time i was a "customer". Except for when any women got into a fight. The waitresses were the ones that kicked the women out (to avoid any possible "he touched me THERE!!" comments that tend to happen after one of the male bouncers gets a knee to the groin). Wound up with a lot of bruised shins throwing out cat fights.

ahh... so many unwise decisions on my part come to mind reading this thread , but the worst of mine was when i was tromping through Africa and sold my year's supply of malaria pills to a fellow backpacker for $50.
you can guess what parasitic disease soon ensued. :uhoh21: :uhoh21: :uhoh21:

While in LPN school, I had an appt to sell my plasma so I could buy Christmas presents for my family. However, I locked my keys in my peice-of-crap car at the plasma center. A cop helped me break into my car- it took an hour. I was freezing, exhausted and depressed by then and just went on home to the little boarding house I lived in while in school. I was so poor that year, I felt like "The Little Match Girl." Remember that fairy tale? I guess this was what I almost did for money.

When I was a kid (with four siblings) and Daddy wanted us out of his hair so he could watch football in peace, he would send us outside for a couple of hours each with a jar and a flyswatter. Then he told us after his football game was over, he would pay us a penny for each fly we killed. Kept us busy and entertained and Daddy happy.
