What irritates you?

  1. I'm curious. What little things irritate/annoy you? Not send you into a rage but grates on you? I'd have to say peoples lack of table manners. I mean geez people, lets use our knives and forks properly and use a napkin! Sheesh! Oh, and get your elbows off the table!!

Cracking gum drives me absolutely NUTS!!! Cracking, popping, chewing gum with open mouth....chomp, chomp, chomp. Talk about table manners! I want to say to these people "do you make this much noise at the dinner table?!" Really big pet peeve of mine! Mouth noises---how crass!

I have many others . I also hate it when people marinate in their perfume/cologne. Or people who pull up to the toll booth and THEN start looking for money (like they didn't know they had to pay?!). Or people who make left hand turns into the right hand lane (or vice versa)....OK...I'll shut up now

OK I am dead meat according to Daphne!

I eat with the right, shift the fork to the left, and cut with the right, and then put the knife down and shift the fork back to the right!!! LMAO! I am pretty much useless with my left hand!!!

Zee Marninate????? LMAO!!! Never hear of it reffered too like that ever! Actually, I have had to tell some to stop using itto fill their bathtub.

I hate the person is does 40 in a 45. Then there is the person that does 55 in a 45, then slams on their brakes, and turns on their signal as they are half way on the road or driveway they are turning onto.
So now I am driving one mile behind the person in front of me, because they have their turn signal on also. I figure after the previous guy, I better leave lots of stopping room. In the meantime the guy driving in front of me, with his signal on continues to drive.... (scroll).......................................... .................................................. .................................................. .............................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .............................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .............................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .............................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .............................. ............................................
for 8 miles (with the signal on)!!!!!!!! sheeeeeeshe!!!!! So yeah I know your turning, I just dont know when!!! LMAO!!!
The person that comes in to another pts room (revived full arrest) and says, what about my ankle? When is someone going to forget about this person and come see me?

Ok I'm done........I could go on forever! LOL!

I've got a driving one ( actually lots of driving ones, but I'll mention just one ), and a work one. One thing that drives me nuts on the highway is when someone is driving real slow (55-65 in the left hand lane), w/out anyone in front of them, then they change lanes to let you by but @ the same time they speed up . It happens all the time and I absolutely can't understand it!
My work irritation is pseudo days off. I rotate between days and nights and when you finish the nights and start back on days you have this fake day off. For example I worked last night (W into Th) and start back on days on Sat., so on the schedule it looks like I have 2 days off but really I slept all day today so didn't actually get to enjoy the first day off. You know? Bugs me. Sometimes I can stay up and do stuff, but I was too exhausted today.

people who go to the "lieberry", or buy "jewleree" drive me nuts. At work people who talk about their sex life. OHYAH! pleople who want me to take a look at their rash or tell them if the Dr. has made a correct DX.

I have to agree with LPN, I hate people who ask me for a diagnosis! I went to a family picnic recently. One of my in laws grandparents pulled out a penlight and asked me to look at her eye because something "flew in there" and she wanted me to see if she had scratched her cornea. I told her there were extra special instruments for looking at something that small and besides, I'm an OB nurse! If you got an episiotomy you want looked at, then I'm the nurse! But I don't want to look at your eye, hear about your poop, or go into too much detail about you cardiac meds!

    UGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

    Hello all,

Believe it or not after the 2nd week of nursing school my mother brought me her CAT SCAN results and wanted me to read them and confirm her Dx. If this is the general public response to nurses or student nurses then some education is desperately needed.

I hope I do not offend anyone, but I work with a woman who talks about her four yr old and two yr old ALL DAY, which that in itself I would not mind, except she has to quote everything they say in a baby, lispy voice. It drives me up the wall! Aaaaaaaah!

Like, you know, what irritates me is like when people can't seem to, you know, express themselves with any, like, degree of clarity. I know, it's part of the culture (I'm Candian eh?), but hwne nurses in their thirties talk like, like valley girls, it drives me up the wall

[O/T to Rick:] I do this too. According to Judith Martin (Miss Manners), this is the "American" way of using your knife and fork, as opposed to the European way, and is considered more refined than the European way, because it is more difficult and complicated--i.e., anything that makes it MORE difficult to get the food to your mouth is considered more "refined." I bet you had no idea you were so elegant![O/T]
