The thought of another terrorist attack remains on everyone's mind. We had quite a discusssion at Thanksgiving dinner. Some are convinced they will poison the water systems. Others, the release of some bio-chemical in crowded domed stadiums across the country one Saturday. Or find a way to undermine/cripple healthcare providers---like sending free stethoscopes "infected" with some pathogen that would enter and destroy the brain through your ears. (My 16 year old nephew came up with that one.
No one seems to think it won't happen. Just that it's a matter of what and when. And that it will probably be inhumane beyond our wildest imaginings. What do you think?

I couldn't agree more.

I really don't think the terrorists are as well organized, or have as many organized plans as we originally thought. Over a year has gone by and we've only had vague threats...why? If they are so committed there should have been a serious attempt. Perhaps the rumors and fear are the best they can do at this time. Heaven knows that airport security is no better, and I can think of a hundred different possibilities for even one determined suicide bomber.
Cowards- even Osama didn't expect the Twin Towers to come down, that was dumb luck on their part.
However there are certain people in the United States who have a vested interest in maintaining the fear and the belief that the terrorist are these brilliant, highly organized, masterminds who will strike us at any minute with an attack beyond anything we could imagine. It suits their purposes to maintain this fear because they can then convey the impression that they and only they can stop this, but only if we give them the absolute power they need to do so and a blank check to do anything else they want to do in the name of fighting terrorism. Any guesses as to who that could be?
