What do you put in Christmas Stockings?

  1. Ok, I am obsessing about Christmas, I was just wondering what you put in your Christmas Stockings ( Russell, I picture you saying a nice pair of legs, LOL !!!) A family tradition is the Life Saver Books, I always put them in my kids stockings. I am just wondering what some of your family traditions are, hmmmmmmm how about a lump of coal, where does one buy coal these days?:chuckle

I haven't had a stocking since I was about 10, and I have no kids, so I don't do stockings!! I miss those days, though...sigh.

We also got the lifesaver books, also chocolate coins, flavored lip balm, barrettes, socks, stuff like that.

You can actually find them in Hallmark or walmart.
I have girls so I buy things like lip gloss, lotion, when they were smaller little things like crayons, pencils, usually some sort of small toys. We always have to have the life saver book too.

Santa always brings books, small toys, flavored lip glosses, anything light enough to not cause the stocking to be laying on the floor in the morning!

    A huge orange
a little bottle of hand lotion
    candy
    lip gloss
    little American Girl books
    pretty pens/pencils
    small stuffed animal

This year Igot an advent caledar from LTD Commodities and it has 25 pouches that you can fill with things.

It is so much fun finding little things to put in there!

We sometimes put movie tickets in our kids stockings. Also since they play hockey we put silly things like extra mouth guards. But you always should put some hersheys kisses in there. Its not a Christmas stocking without the kisses!

    Good question.

For my three sons ages 20, 14, 13 items range from razors, cologne, fruit, hair gel, socks, candy.. etc.. I usually try to individualize each stocking to match the persons likes and needs. If one is getting an item that calls for batteries I will add some extra batteries to their stocking. One son loves Sunflower seeds so I will put a few packages of those in.

My college son will like anything he doesn't have to pay for !:chuckle

I always find this to be a tough task. My boys are 14, almost 13, and 12. I usually buy candy. I also get them Hot Wheels or Matchbox cars. Little hand held electronic games. One kid collects bookmarks, one collects postcards, and the other one keychains. So I usually get a couple of those to throw in there. The batteries are a good idea. I will try that this year. Any other ideas for teenage and near teenage boys? I am open for suggestions. Thanks.

I'll put little toys (like matchbox cars) in the stockings along with special candy ... my little one like ring pops. I also stuff those chocolate coins and lollipops in the tree.

Must have a tangerine and a few candies and nuts in the toe! Other than that, little trinket things, small bottles of cologne or aftershave, silly little joke gifts. A suggestion for teenage boys - I got my son a travel alarm in a folding picture frame which recorded a message. I did 10 seconds of my worst "Get out of that bed, don't make me come up those stairs and drag you out" morning rant, put my photo in and told him it was for those days when he absolutely had to get up! He laughed himself silly - it was the hit of the morning! Sharper Image and Brookstone have neat little gifts for guy's stockings.

Candy, candy and more candy...plus little things like lotion and lip gloss for my daughter. Chap stick, pocket knife for the son.
