What do you do for rest and relaxation

  1. Hi all,

This is off the nursing subject but I thought I would share. My husband and I just got home from Atlantic City. We had a great time, made a little extra spending money, and spent some time with friends. I feel refreshed now and ready to work my next 3 days of 12 hour shifts.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

I moved this thread to the Off Topic Forum because I thought you would get more coverage....

Fun? I like to shoot pool on Friday nights with my sweatheart. We just moved and are having a great time exploring our new town, Cheyenne. The challenge is to find a place with minimal smoke, good tables etc, and yummy cheap munchies and fresh beer!

The other great thing we enjoy doing is going antiquing or looking for sometime you can not live without because it is so pretty or unique. I prefer items below $ 5.00.

West and Wewaxation...well we ski here in the Great Northeast...closing day on my Mountain-of-choice including skiing across a huge pool of water in any matter which you saw fit...and local recent mountain legend tells us that two male snowborders dropped trow at the top of the mountain and rode successfully, to the bottom without mishap...where is Ski Patrol when you need them...LOL!

For non-snow W&W I enjoy a trip to the 'Chief' at a CT based gambling casino as well as golf and tennis in what I call the off-season...

    Happy trails to you...

Working for international organisation s' not fun at all. Overwork , less time for relax. Anyway, i miss my simple ever relaxed pacific sea/beach for surfing snorkelling and just day dreaming away.
Here, i wait for weekends when am have less things to do i went away from the city to relax... Sometimes to the mountains to have a chat with the ehtnic minorities, sometimes to the sea to ride on a boat with an interesting book.

Last weekend i spent time swimming in the pool, and watching tourist being hassle by the locals...
This is vietnam. Once here prepare to say No no no no no no by the end of the day just wonder how many no you've said.

Other then acyually going away which is rare. I love to chill on the couch and watch rented movies. It's my escape. When the weather is nice working in the garden is my relaxation.

I would love to start working in my garden, all I'm growing right now is poison resistant weeds!
I enjoy going brain dead for an hour in front of the TV on occassion. I have a toddler who loves the camera, so lately I have really enjoyed scrapbooking his pictures and writing down the neat things that he does...like smashing my great-grandmothers china cups together when I was trying to pack them up to move!

I am so selfish on the weekends--I want to sleep 'til I'm done.

    After a tense day I often spend time KILLING THINGS--Centipede on-line is pretty awesome. It's funny, because my kids and husband have figured out that if I'm killing electrically generated bugs that it's best to leave me alone (much better than going postal on my kids, and with a 15 year old--that's pretty easy) :}

We have a soaker tub, so usually I take a long bath once a week, with candles and nice music.

Otherwise I enjoy reading, especially American classics, and traveling. Before we die my husband and I want to visit every continent.

I too work 3 days, 12 hours at a time. On the days I work, the 12 hours in between shifts are used up simply with sleep (8) commuting back and forth (1) eating (1) shower (.5) slumber (.5) and one hour to just mess around.
On my days off, I like to work out, eat lime sherbert, read about science, study my classes. I'm still trying to figure it out.
When I work 3 days straight, and don't do aerobics, I feel like a slug.
