What do you think of this?

  1. "In the city of God there will be a great thunder, two brothers torn apart by chaos, while the fortress endures, the great leader will succumb, The third big war will begin when the big city is burning".

    Nostradamus 654

    Any thoughts on this?

It has been reported that this is all a hoax. It is proven by the fact that the writers of this hoax ascribed the words to Notradamus over a hundred years after he had died.

A true prophet is NEVER wrong, Nostradamus has been wrong more than right, not to mention everything he wrote is very vague, and as fergus said, it was translated how ever one wanted it.

Less credible than organised religion, but still superstition.

Nostradamus did make a quote about Twin Brothers falling, I think, but people are changing it to make it look more "accurate." Someone at work had received an email that scared her silly saying the Twin Brothers would be engulfed by flame, metal birds crashing into them, in the New City...I researched it and the site I went to said it was too overburdened by people checking out Nostradamus to handle all the hits on the site. The email I saw said he said it in 1654; he died in the 1500s.

I think he also predicted that California would fall into the sea in the 1980s. My sister-in-law lived out there then and my mother-in-law was very concerned about her specifically because of the prophecy. Not that it won't happen possibly someday but, hey, hasn't happened yet.

while i can't remember what it was he allegedly said before, at the outbreak of the persion gulf war people were throwing his words out there also. they were claiming, or twisting his thoughts into, the persian gulf war would be the last war of the world and end of the planet.

now ask me what i think again?

I believe that stuff is just superstition. Like all superstitions it is not true and thank god it is so or the palms of my hands would look like a fur rug.

    Just my opinion

I received this email also...I know we all interpret things differently, but I would not call Washington, DC or New York the "City of God" to me that would be Jerusalem anyway.

"Terror will come from the sky on the 7th month of the new millenium"
    ~Nostradamus~
In the days when he was alive, with the old calender, the 7th month was
    September.

I have a site I frequently go to when I receive these e-mails. The site is Urban Legends at Snopes.com. It debunks most of these e-mails we all receive that play on our sympathies and fears.

If I can get this link to print correctly in this post, it addresses this particular hoax regarding the Nostradamus "prediction" of the WTC horror.

    http://www.snopes2.com/inboxer/hoaxes/predict.htm

Have fun with this site. Some of the "medical" Urban Legends are hilarious! Nance

I don't believe anything happens for some mysterious devine purpose. Life is a random lottery of meaningless tradgedy and a series of near escapes. (Reality Bites- Ethan Hawk and Winona Ryder)

Ask yourself is someone profitting from these rumors? I'll betchya there is. Don't let yourself get duped.

If you are a Christian or any other religion you probably believe that if you led a good life and followed the 10 commandments you will make it to heaven. I would focus on that and forget about all this Nostradoms crap.
