What are your Memorial Day plans?

  1. I was wondering if you had special Memorial Day plans, my daughter's school has their Kennywood Picnic this Sat. and it is supposed to be rainy and awful. For those not familiar with Kennywood, it is the local amusement park, with original wooden rollercoasters, all the schools go there at the end of the year, it is a nice park, you are allowed to bring picnic baskets in and it is a wonderful family time. I am planning on having a BBQ this monday, family will come and eat me out of house and home. I am thinking of taking it easy and just making hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill, potato salad, fruit salad, chips and dip. Anyone have any special Memorial Day recipies they would like to share? Hmmmmmmm, corn on the cob cooked on the grill sounds good too.

Gee.. sounds like fun, BadBird !

But...... no plans here. Gotta work Sat., and Monday, too. And if Sunday is as rainy, cool, and foggy as the past 3 weeks, I may just hide under the covers all day !

Son Lucas has a birthday on the 26th. We are going to try to take the bike out for the Memorial day run to Red River, NM.
There are usually a ton of bikes out that day. Supposed to be sunny and 80's.

Hoping to cook out on Sunday - ribs, potato salad - all the other stuff. My hubby has to work on Monday so the son and I hope to go to the pool. The weather has been beautiful here but the highs are only in the 70's - ok for him in the pool, but not me. I'll be lounging by the sidelines, hopefully talking to people. I wish my hubby didn't have to work, but he sells for Frito Lay so holidays are really big.

Sounds cool. We're going to a pool party of a wealthier-than-us couple that has a nice home on the water with a pool and a boat!

Working Sat and Sun, 12 hour shifts in ED. Hope to go to the yearly memorial service at the veterans cemetary where my Dad is buried on Monday.
Have fun everyone, and be careful!
And, as always, a big thank-you to all the veterans, everyone in the military, and all their families and friends, too. Because of all of you, we get to enjoy another holiday weekend.

Working Sat and Sun . .but I can't complain as I've just had 9 days off. My husband and kids will be busy with yard work. Even bringing the tractor in from the ranch . . .

NOT WORKING. i hope I can have a nice day to cookout with the family. I think in-laws and everyone is coming to our house. And Ron is going to light the grill. Hopefully it will not rain. It has rained here everyday for almost a month. Our minister said in Sunday service that we prayed for rain for four years and we are going to get it all in four weeks.

My daughter came home and told me that she has to be at school at 7am, her band is marching in some parade. I hate when she springs this on me at the last minute, I even checked the school web page and no mention. The band teacher has in the past sprung these suprises on us like we have no other plans, grrrrrrr, oh well. Not to mention it is supposed to rain. I may be broiling the burgers.
