Hi every one,
I just got back from a great vacation. It got me to thinking what
all of you are doing this summer with your precious time off?
My husband and I vacationed this year with our dearest friends ever (They were are maid of honor and best man in our wedding)
We traveled to Niagra Falls. Stopped at all the vinyards and sampled wines from the Niagra region of Ontario, Canada (Brought home several bottles) Any Canadian nurses out there? We loved the Ice Wines. Traveled to Toronto and did all the touristy things. Toronto zoo, Toronto Blue Jays baseball game, Lake Ontario harbor cruise, theater (The Lion King, what a show). Continued north to Kingston, Ontario and stayed on an island in the 1,000 Islands and finally back to good old USA.
How about the rest of you??

Vacation! What's a vacation? I wasn't allowed to take one this summer becasue our unit is down 3 RN's on evening shift so my vacation request and another nurses were denied by our head nurse due to the staffing shortage! I got a 4 day weekend last week which I do not consider a vacation at all! which means that I haven't had a vacation in a year so my "precious time" will be spent at work!

I must echo Kelly. What time off?
Actually, I am forcing myself to take all of my vacation days this year because I only used 4 days last year and they are "use-'em-or-lose-'em." I'm going to Vegas for a wedding at the end of the month and I'm taking a few extra days to play! (Anybody else going to be there?)
Last month I spent 4 days on the Oregon Coast at a girlfriend's beach house and it was fabulous. We shopped, barbecued, went bike-riding, went agate hunting on the beach, and at sunset we sat on the deck drinking wine and watching the waves roll in. It was sooo relaxing. I really need to take more time off!
