you know, there is the old standby Grandmother.. i know it sounds kinda stuffy at first, but kids don't know the diff. I always called both my grandmothers Grandmother.. one just had her name attached to the end. I've also heard Me-maw. But my favorite for the grandfathers is what i called mine.. Daddy-Pop.

    Hello:
We call one of my grandmothers NaNaw and the other one we call Grandma. My niece and nephew call my mom MaMaw and my dad PaPaw. There was no prompting by any of the grandparents. My brother who is the oldest grandchild gave nanaw her name and his son gave mom hers. Hope this helps a bit...

Thanks for the input. I personally don't care what I am called. My daughter's MIL is making a fuss about the whole deal. She wants to be unique Hate to burst her bubble but she is already more unique than most of us can handle..

in a good old rerun of the cosby show the grandmothers called themselves

Wow, your family sounds like mine...lotsa Grandmas! Maybe you guys should just wait until the little one starts talking to see what their version of "Grandma" is, those are always the cutest names anyway! and let in-law grandma have her pick :chuckle

    Congrats again!

Seems like the kids will come up with their own thing a lot of the time. Have one who calls me Damma-can't do the G's yet. It may very well stick forever!

    Congrats!!!!!
We have "Gravel" (she couldn't say "Grandma" ), Mom-mom, Grammy, Babcia (Polish), Nana, Grandma, and Grandmother.

The kids are the closest to the one who spends the time with them, not the others, who just seem to wnat them for a showpiece and throw money at them.

You'll do fine-the other one already sounds like a nut.

My daughter calls one grandmother MeMaw. Her grandfather is called Pop-pop. The other grandmother (my mother) is called Bubbie (Yiddish). It's the same thing I called her mother. Gee, I miss my Bubbie.
