What are the best and worst gifts you got for Xmas?

  1. My favorite gift: Bookstore gift certificate.

The worst gift: All that candy well-meaning patient's families gave our unit, which I kept gobbling down even though I knew better.

My best gift was a jewelry box from my daughter. I had to take her to the mall and sit on a bench outside the stores while she checked them all for just the right one and then she had them double bag it so I wouldn't be able to peek through the plastic bag.

The worst is a lovely gray boiled wool vest. What's wrong with that? It has leopard kittens embroidered on it and balls of yarn!

I really got a great "haul" this year. The best is the beautiful, tan colored chenille sweater that I'm wearing right now. My daughter got it and a chenille "throw" for me. My Chenille Christmas.

The worst is really a silly thing. My mother-in-law sent US a professional type deli-meat slicer!! AND a fork with a thermometer in it.

I was sitting on the couch on Christmas morning with this HUGE deli meat slicer in the box on my lap and I told my daughter "It's just this Big THING, you know?" She laughed so hard, she almost fell off the couch, so I guess it's not a total loss as a present.

It was a MEAT themed Christmas from my mother in law. LOL

Hope it was as great for everybody here as it was for me!!!

Hope you all had a great Christmas!

My best gift this year is having my husband home to enjoy the holidays with myself and my daughters. (He has been on deployments the last 3 years).....also the beautiful platinum diamond ring he gave me "just 'cause I love you"! (guess I'll keep him!!)

My worst gift was my mother-in-laws horrible attempt to reconsile with my daughters........a belated christmas card with 1 tree ornament for them to "share".........ugh!

Hey NurseDennie! What WAS your Mother-in-law thinking??? I think next Christmas you should send her a 'special' gift. You know how some people make their own jars of jam and stuff, with homemade labels, fabric on the top, etc? You should slice up some bologna and put on the fancy label ("From the Kitchen of NurseDennie"), some fancy bows and stuff, and give it to her! I'd love to see her reaction when you proudly say "I sliced it myself" :->

    Favorite gift:
A complete set of Adidas work-out clothes from Darren. The best part about it......he picked them out in our wedding color - periwinkle blue. So thoughtful.

    Least favorite gift:
That would be the gift to my ENTIRE family from my aunt and uncle. They mailed me a check to get a gift certificate at the Olive Garden......for $100.00. It was made out to the restaurant, not to me!!! Like I would cash it and not do what they wanted with it....couldn't believe it when I saw that!
Also, There are 8 people to consider in my family when we all go out to eat. Do the math!!! That's equivilent to spending $12.50 per person. My uncle only has one sister....my mom. Things that make you go Mmmmmmmm. Oh well, at least they didn't send us a gaudy christmas decoration like they did last year. ("My family isn't dysfunctional at all." **Repeat as needed***)

Darren kept saying "cheap, cheap, cheap" like a little birdy. I love him so. He's always there for me. Tee Hee.

Wow, I had a great haul, a dvd player, a scanner, a Littman, some rugs for the living room, lots of Snoopy stuff too. the worst part was taking my 15 month old to the ER Christmas day for an ear infection. I still have one more family gift exchange to do...my cousin got really sick, still don't know what's wrong and my other grandpa died, so we decided to postpone things for a few weeks. there's where I get the really ugly stuff. Last year I recieved a hideous clock worthy of a gag-gift exchange!
