i was walking down the street on a cold wintry day, when i came upon a boy standing in front of a shoe store, looking at a pair of shoes, with a look of longing on his little face.
i asked him what he was thinking about, and he replied as he shivered, "nothin' much. i was just wishing for a pair of shoes." i took him by the hand and we went into the store, where i asked the clerk to give me 6 pairs of socks, a towel, and a basin of water. he did as i requested, and let me to a room in the back of the store where i washed the little boy's dirty feet. after they were clean, i placed a pair of socks on them, and then bought a pair of shoes, and put them on his feet too. after i had finished, i tied the rest of the socks toghther, and handed them to the little fellow, who now had such a beautiful look of gratitude on his face. he looked up at me and asked, "are you god's wife?
