Be strong honey! If I can do it, you can do it!

Don't know if this will help. But hubby and I originally quit together. It wasn't long before he started again.

If I smoke again, I'm just as weak as he is. Being better than him is what keeps me smoke free!

I'll be checking, so you'd better be good!

Good luck! Maybe this year you could forego the drinking if that makes it easier not to smoke??? I am gonna quit one of these days.....again, that is.... I can say from experience that it only takes one cig to get you hooked again!!! Steer Clear!!! Make it a Christmas Present to yourself!

(oh, and like Heather said...show the hubby how much better you are, hee hee.)

Ditto what ShandyLynn said. If you give in, all the effort you put into the past 83 days will be wasted. Don't put yourself back to square one, you've worked too hard for this!

Dianne, you can do it! You have proven yourself strong and capable so far; just think how much better you feel without all of those chemicals floating around polluting your body. We know that you have made it 83 days and that you can make it for life.

You have survived this one day at a time and you can do the party night too.
    You are a non-smoker...remember?

Stick with the nonsmokers. Stay indoors. EAT EAT EAT, anything is better than smoking.

    You can do it!

Hang in there, stay with the non-smokers. You can do this. I've been smoke free for 2 years this coming Jan. A 2 1/2 pack a day habit

At 83 days I'd say you should be past the point where drinking makes you need a cigarette. I say need instead of want. Of course you'll still want one, but it shouldn't be that burning desire that just doesn't go away.

You can do it!! Keep a toothpick or a straw or something in your hand to make you feel better. Remind yourself how good you feel by not smoking, and how much you'll regret it the next day.

    Obviously not a smoker?

It was a year for me in October, and I still get the urge when I'm sitting up at the bar with friends.

Nope, speaking from experience here. I tried many times to quit, but finally did after I went 2 months without drinking. I've slipped up a few times since then (I quit about 2 years ago), but now it just makes my throat hurt and I feel like shyt the next day.

I think everyone is different here. I also CRAVED cigarettes when I quit...even when I was pregnant. I didn't smoke, but I couldn't wait to get home from the hospital. Started the same day I got out. I just couldn't get it out of my head.

I think I would have to quit life for awhile if I quit now. No way could I go out w/ liquor involved and not want one. My friend has quit for 10 years and still CRAVES them all the time. It's like a part of you!!!
