Wellness/Fitness thread 5/19/03

  1. Good morning!

    It's a perfect day temperature-wise. Looks like more rain, but I got my jog out of the way first thing. Also purchased a cheap jump rope yesterday as I have been reading that it can be a great toner. Anyone with any experience/thoughts? (I haven't tried it yet as I need to have it very private and dark so I don't embarass myself - I never was very coordinated! )

    Recipe for the day - great for when you don't want to heat up your kitchen...

    Veggi Spaghetti

    1 md green pepper, chopped
    1 md zucchini, cubed
    1 sm onion, diced
    8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
    2/3 c grated parmesan cheese
    1 lg jar spaghetti sauce
    1/4 c sliced olives
    1 t oregano
    1 t garlic salt
    16 oz spinach noodles

    Put everything except noodles in a crock pot for 6-8 hours on low. Pour over cooked noodles.

    Go wild with any kind of veggie you want in there! For us granola types, you can also thrown in some tofu, TVP, or even some kidney beans.

    Jumping rope is GREAT !!! Super for aerobic workout along with everything else. Would be the only type of aerobics I would enjoy.
    I have a good rope, but nowhere really to use is but the dank, dusky basement... yuk. Can't see myself jumping out on the driveway.. heh, heh........ but it IS fun !
