Wellness/Fitness thread 4/4/03

  1. Hi again! I saw some folks jumped in later last evening - the more the merrier! When I was tempted to sit right down at the computer this morning instead of exercising first, I thought of you all and couldn't. So in went the "Look Great Naked - Butt" DVD. They have some pretty good resistance exercises on them even though all the gals doing them look like they have night jobs as strippers . Hubby is going to take me out running this evening (actually, jogging and puffing for short distances lol.) Again, just varying the routine to keep from getting bored.

    If you're sitting reading this, do you have some water at your desk? Dehydration causes fatigue and it's hard to motivate yourself when you feel tired. As nurses, we get dehydrated because so many barely have time to pee at work, let alone drink water. Get some now!

    And start think ahead to your weekend. If you're off, it's easier to think about ways you can incorprate a little movement into your day.

    Check in today and let everyone know you're moving with us. Who knows who you may be inspiring? I'm sure we've got lurkers trying to work up to doing something. Encourage them with your efforts. Most of all, do it for yourself and the great way you KNOW you'll feel when you're done.

    I am foregoing my routine this morning because I have to go into work early.
    I'll try to get a powerwalk in before lunch.

    Ok, it's cold, it's foggy, it's rainy here this lovely Friday morning. Yet....I felt like a jerk if I didn't walk so I did. I cut the walk short by about 10 minutes (so it was 20 instead of 30) but despite my glasses fogging up, I felt damn good.

    Time to hit the shower.

    I overslept this morning, so I wasn't able to do my usual routine. So...I guess tonight I'll just do a 3-mile tape to make up for it.

    As for water...I'm CONSTANTLY sipping on a water bottle. That's one thing I picked up from Weight Watchers. They want you to drink at least 6 8oz glasses of water. I usually drink 3 20oz bottles throughout the day. And run to the bathroom often as well! But it does help. I notice when I don't drink as much water, I don't lose as much weight for the week.
