Weird Dreams

  1. What kind of weird dreams have all of you had? (Not those kind of dreams Heather... ) Last night I had a dream that I had had major abdominal surgery, with about 100 staples across my stomach and a surgical site that was bright red and swollen. I also had surgical sites on the insides of my upper arms and on either side of my nose. I looked like I had been pieced together or something. Other times I have had dreams where different members of my family were chasing me and trying to kill me. I KNOW I'M STRANGE!!!!

Actually, for some reason, I got the idea that the sites on my abdomen and under my arms were from liposuction (with NO change in their sizes) and that the doc had "Thrown in the nose job for free". HUH???

Last night, I dreamed that teeny tiny trolls like the size of limes were trying to kill me! But the really crazy part was their voice. Whenever they spoke, it was the exact sound of my boyfriend's snore! I guess I must have been sleeping lightly which allowed my subconscious (sp) to integrate the loudest sound my ears picked up!

    It was truly a nightmare!!!

Next time you have this one, break out the tequila, blender and ice and make yourself some trollaritas!! After all, it is your dream.

I used to have some wild dreams and nightmares.

Once dreampt my son was taken hostage by Iranians, and when I finally got him back, he had surgical dressings on his chest like he had open heart surgery. Scary!!

My son wa 19 mo old when my dtr was born. I dreampt I was going to a baby shower for someone else, and I left Kristy in the pram outside of the house. Then a huge rainstorm, like a tidal wave of flooding came down the street towards the carriage. I didn't get there in time and she was swept away, but I caught her by her little arm, just before she went under water. I took that dream as meaning I felt overwhelmed by being a mom to two babies in diapers, but deep down inside I really wanted/loved the new baby, no matter how tired and stressed I was.

Another time I was in the hospital, and my friend was admitted. The lab report on her chart, her CBC, said she had "shattered cones" in her blood." I asked a doc what that meant, and he said it could be an early indicator of HIV!!

    How is that for weird??

I once had a dream in which I was at the LTC facility that I worked at, in the nurse's station. In the dream, I was working Day shift for some reason (I was always on night shift), there was a pile of patient charts under the nurse's desk which was on fire, and I was the only one who seemed to find this situation upsetting. I kept yelling to the other nurses "the charts are on fire" and they just looked at me like I was crazy. I started running up and down the halls looking for a fire extinguisher (which was nowhere to be found) and when I looked behind myself, I found that I was being chased by a monster. Again, none of the others would help me. I do remember thinking in the dream that I wished Gloria and Louise were there (the other night shift nurses), that I knew they would help me if they were there. I later left that job, under A LOT of stress. There had been alot of politics and garbage going on around there and I knew that the day shifters would not have stood up for those of us on night shift (I also found out in the end that I shouldn't have been trusting some of my co-workers on nights either). Gloria had quit that facility about 3 months before I quit and Louise quit about 3 months after I did. They were my best friends at that facility and I allways knew I could count on them to help me out in an emergency.

It was far into the future. We were no longer a democratic society. Total dictatorship. The leader of our country was a woman, and our government was called the "Hive". She reminded me of Imelda Marcos. I was the Chief of National Security and I wore this super sexy black and orange leather uniform and carried no weapons because I was feared by everyone. People would walk around and could only speak in low whisper because we wanted noise control. I also knew it was because they were horribly afraid of me. They had a right to be - I ran a "tight ship" and did not tolerate ANY form of disrespect or civil disobedience.
The problem was, I knew our queen "bee" was insane. I had taken things too far and now people lived in constant fear.
I was walking through the hallways of the "hive" when I saw a scuffle break out. I couldn't believe anyone would dare to do such a thing. The guy was immediately brought down and taken to interrogation, which was really our torture room.
My gaurds beat him almost senseless. After they had him strapped down to one of the torture tables, I went in to see who this person was. When I looked into his eyes, it seemed he peered right through to my soul, and I felt total remorse for the person I had become. At that very moment, I decided I had to leave. I had to save him, and escape the Hive.
I told my guards to leave me alone with the prisoner. When they left the room, my heart was pounding and I was trembling. I could just feel that the queen bee knew her most trusted advisor had turned traitor. I released the bonds from the prisoner, and started to take him through the secret passages of the Hive only I and the queen bee knew about. He was barely able to walk and I had to support him.
After getting to an area where I knew once we passed, we could be relatively safe, I ran into one of my gaurds. He looked at me, seeing that I was with the prisoner who was hanging on my shoulder. Seemed like ages, but he motioned for us to pass, and gave me a look as if to say, "I hope you make it out safe".
We ended up on an old abandoned highway, in the middle of nowhere. The guy looks up at me, stands up as straight as he can, then gives me this deep kiss.
Next thing I know, we are on an Amish farm, and we are sitting together on a porch, watching the sun rise.

Longest saga-like dream I have ever had. Dreamed this 8 years ago.

The one about my family trying to kill me was reoccurring at one time. Another one that kept reoccurring was one where I was on vacation with my family and we were staying at this creepy (haunted house type) hotel and someone had killed my whole family and was chasing me to kill me too. A few times it was my Dad's aunt that was trying to kill us.

My recurring dream: My teeth fall out. I get it about four times a year. Another recurring one is black bears get into my house and I am trapped upstairs. I am terrifed of black bears. Losing my teeth, I have no idea why I dream about this.....

I seem to have a lot of wierd dreams. I have one recurring dream where I am running up an endless flight of stairs. The stairs disappear into the distance ahead of me and behind me. Something or someone is following behind me, but I can't stop to see what it is because then it will catch me. I am never frightened by this dream, just disturbed. I also have a recurring dream about being in an old, dark, house. I am going from room to room in the house looking through drawers and closets. There is old furniture in the house, and the closets and drawers are filled with old clothes. The cupboards are filled with old dishes, and everything is dusty and cobwebbed. I dream about work frequently. I recently dreamt that I was assigned avery complicated patient, one who was on the vent, multiple drips, CVVH, and hourly accuchecks. In my dream, I sat at the desk for my entire shift, reading a magazine, and never even looked in on the patient. I made up vital signs, accuchecks, and I&O, and signed off the meds without giving them I woke up very upset with my self. I was upset for several days. I couldn't believe that I could even dream of doing something like this. On the other hand, I have had dreams about my husband soing things he shouldn't do, and have been very angry with him when I woke up. I once dreamt that he went to Hawaii with a blonde, and didn't talk to him all day.

Hey! Why does everyone assume the worst from me? Am I that obvious? I'm hurt. And offended.

You guys know me! You really really know me!

I dream such bizarre dreams. I'll wake up completely paralyzed from them, or in complete disbelief. I dream very vivid dreams. Sometimes I have to get up and do something to prove they weren't real (find my son, make sure there isn't water in the basement, make sure both of my eyeballs are still in their sockets, etc.)

Unfortunately, I have great difficulty remembering them within a few hours after waking.

But now I know to share when I have one!

    Heather
