Weird Dreams

  1. Ever have any really weird dreams about work? Like for instance, I had a dream where I was giving someone a shot, but nothing was coming out of the needle! Or another dream I had was I could see the meds that needed to be given, but I couldn't get to them...wonder what all that means? It's bad enough I'm dreaming about work....anyone else have weird dreams about work?

    Hey HappyJax,

I can't think of any of my own dreams about work right now. But someone once told me, if you dream about work, that means you can do your job in your sleep...lol

I had a dream that a code was called and the voice said "Elizabeth, get the crash cart." I fell out of bed thinking I was still at work and had fallen asleep. :uhoh21:

I don't think I like the idea if I dream about work then I can do it in my sleep.

LOL! I don't think I dream about work...I dream about school. But I KNOW I couldn't do that in my sleep!

I have crazy dreams myself all the time. How about just plain scary? I constantly dream that I am being chased, and I wake up to the tune of my own scream with a racing heartbeat :chuckle

The other one is when I see myself dead in a coffin, and I am being buried :stone

I dream about work all the time. One night I dreamed that I was pushing a med (but it was really just a HUGE saline flush), which I'm not allowed to do as a clinical assistant - I can't even flush IV's! I dreamed that I flushed this IV, and I knew I was flushing it way too fast, but I couldn't stop myself! For some reason, this flush seemed never ending - I was like, giving a whole liter of saline through this flush, but in my dream, even though I knew it was saline, I thought it was some high powered med, but I couldn't stop myself, I was just pushing all this saline in as fast as I could, and this poor woman's arm was blowing up like a balloon with all this fluid, and I still couldn't stop flushing... and suddenly her arm burst and the whole liter of saline I had pushed into her arm just went everywhere... and I woke up in a cold sweat. It was horrible! I don't know why I dreamed that....

When I was six I had a recurring dream that I was hit by a train and died. I saw my funeral and everything. So much for that theory, eh?

I used to have some really wild dreams. Once, because of global warming, the Earth was totally flooded and people lived in treetops and we got around in canoes. Not boats, just canoes. Not sure what large families did.

    Jess,

Are you ever able to realize you're dreaming in your dream? If you can ever do this, you can sometimes change the events of your dreams. Take control of them, so to speak, instead of letting them (your unconsciousness feelings and emotions) steer the wheel. I did this with a recurring dream of falling, I just let myself land to see what would happen, it was just like lying down to bed, once I made the conscious effort to explore it and realized nothing happened, I haven't had the dream since.

You may even try to practice it in dreams that aren't scary. Just to give yourself the confidence that it's possible.

Sounds weird, I know. But it's worth a try. Either it'll work or it won't, right?
