wednesday october 5th.......................

  1. the 5th october is just about to arrive. it should be here by the time that I have typed this. as they say here have a good one!
nice quiet night in work at the moment...but its a surgical floor so that could change at any time. going to make the most of the day tomorrow...after I have a sleep that is, maybe beach it for a few hours and swim in the sea. so long as the weather is sunny, there have been plenty of thunderstorms here for a few days now.
hope you all wake up to a good day.

g'day all! it's 1515 wednesday afternoon here in oz.

spent time with my good mate chatting over a cuppa this morning. always a pleasant exchange. that "muffin break" make the best cappucino's! yum. do you have "muffin break" up/over? they make scrumptious muffins too, but i resisted one of those. *slaps self on back for being strong* :chuckle

it's spring in australia and the flowers are sprung! gardens and countryside looks wonderful. very picturesque indeed. so welcome after a lousy winter, which seemed to last forever! so, as i enjoy warm spring days and balmy nights here down under, i'm thinking of you folks up/over shivering with the approach of your winter. :flowersfo now now, don't throw things at me!:chuckle
if we've had to have a winter ... so do you!

    have a nice day everyone!

No Muffin Break here (Southeastern Calif), but we do have a GFE = Grounds for Enjoyment, where I get my decaf mocha! They also do a very nice (and calorie-filled!) panini (grilled sandwich).

I think it's a local thing. Another one is Stell's Coffee Co. Both make good flavored coffees.

Glad you're enjoying spring (got any pictures you can post??)! Our nights have begun to cool down, although daytime temps are still in the high 80's (will be 95 tomorrow, with the warm, dry Santa Ana winds, greatly increasing fire danger).

After our hot summers, I'm usually ready for winter (such as it is here ).

    Later! ------------ D

    Good Morning All

Grace, here in Chicago, we're having amazingly unseasonal weather!! It was 88 degrees this afternoon while DH was out golfing!! Our flowers are in there last stages, tho. The leaves are turning & I do think the horrid old cold weather is coming!!

We have Starbuck's here for our brerak!! There is also a chain here, locally called Carabou--they have just wonderful cinnamon scones!! I am pretty good at resisting them, but not 100%.

Not much planned for today--take Mom to hair appt---My Mom is 88 yrs old & that hair HAS to get done every 2 weeks!! & sometimes more often. Can you all believe that at her age, she still takes the Buses to run all over this city???? When we can or when we know about appt's we drive her, tho. I feel better taking her places. Altho, she feels better getting places on her own!!She's really something, that woman!!
I don't know what I will ever do with out her!!

You all have a Wonderful Day,
    I'll see you all later!!

have to get back to work!!

    Good morning, everyone.

Weather here has been pretty mellow. It's supposed to rain finally Friday. We do need it. The grass is all dead.

I'm working today, then off until Sunday. YAY!

    Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Weirdest thing this am, my uncle and grandmother were going to visit me. I knew they would get here after I had gone to work, but I thought I would see them this morning- I get home at 630. Well they have been here, showered, eaten, and I see someone used my bed, but no family!!! Apparently they came and went all in the space of 12 hours, and didn't hang around to say bye. Now I'm stuck wondering if something was wrong- did my cats harass them? does my house stink? did they think they were in the wrong house and cut out before they got caught?

    What a family.

LOL canoehead. I hope everyone's ok there.

    ...AND GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!!!

I'll be on my way to my Chemistry class today...nothing much else happening.

    Y'all have a good one!

    Morning everyone~

I can't believe it....my baby slept through the night last night, and in her crib, to boot!! That was the 2nd time this week that she's done that. Hopefully, it will become the norm. Of course, my son has been waking up in the middle of the night and coming into my bed....gotta stop that...Mommy needs some time to recoup!

My darling oldest daughter is in the process of trying to get herself up for the day. She is so darn miserable all the time, it's driving me insane. I really think she should've been an only child, she can't (or won't) get the hang of the "family" thing. But that's a whole other story.

For all the praying people out there, please keep my family in your prayers. My husband and I are contemplating a big move. He might have an interview in SW Virginia (where he was raised) and all his life he has wanted to move back there. There's the issue with my oldest daughter and the fact that my ex won't allow her to move without a court fight, and also the issue of moving away from my family and friends (although his family is still down there). I'm getting the feeling with all that's been going on that maybe living with her dad *might* be good for my oldest daughter, but I'm not sure about it all. It's a long complicated story, but at any rate, please pray that we make the right decision. I know I shouldn't worry, because God "knows the beginning from the end", but I still do.

Well, I gotta get my DD's butt moving. I hear her banging around up there....it's a hard life, isn't it??? :uhoh21:

    Have a great day everyone!

    Good morning!

Spouse got the promotion he applied for! He will be Regional Director of Clinical Services for the clinics his company has in the west coast of Florida and part of South Georgia (wound care clinics). Which is a sweet territory as we live on the west coast of Florida. It makes sense because the current director of this territory lives in Delaware. So he won't have travel as much as I feared he would. It's a significant pay increase, like 15K a year! Plus the opportunity for bonuses. Woot!
