  1. I can't believe someone hasn't started the GM thread by now!

I'm doing the same thing I did yesterday - working out. Got on the scale at the gym and found that I gained 8 pounds :uhoh21: Now I know why I don't like scales. Should be illegal.

I'm not having breakfast, so you are on your own. Breakfast makes me puke - no joke. Anything on my stomach that early and I get sick. Even the sight of it makes me sick.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!

    GOOD MORNING, PEEPS!!

Well, another WONDERFUL nite at work!! BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!

We had a pt. in surgery when we started the shift at 2300. Just now, we found out he is going to SICU, so he won't be back; within 3 min. of that announcement, they called for that bed!!! Not too hard up for beds?? HUH????LOL!!

Oh well; I guess I all ready figured that out!!
My patient group isn't too bad---in fact, the whole group is not as bad as 2 weeks ago!! At least we have a couple of patients who know what's going on. I have a Radiation Pt. tonite-----we don't get so many of them---she has an implant for Cervical CA.
She's OK--sleeping all nite; has a PCA for pain management.

After work we have Grocery shopping; Then, toward Noon time, DH has Appt with Shoulder Ortho guy. I guess he will give DH the news---surgery or NO surgery!! DH really did not get much improvement from his Physical Therapy.

Grace, I saw your posts earlier in the week about DH's Surgery; I hope he is doing well and hope he is Home doing fine!!!

Bethin, Hope you're getting some rest now; Don't feel so bad about the weight gain--it'll come off if you are now going to the Gym--You'll work it off!!!

How about some nice Hot Coffee, Guys??? Help yourselves--the Pot is NEVER ENDING!!! (Siri,Suzy, etc.)
    or or

Then there is some decaf or finally some
    Tea!!

    I hope you all enjoy!!

Hope everyone will have a WONDERFUL day!! It is pretty cold here in Chicago, but it is dry.

    Stay warm!!

    Hiya Bethin & Mary Ann!!!
It's 3:40 a.m. here and I got home from work just a short time ago. Worked 3-11 and then they were short 1 nurse so put in some over time. My regular shift was crazy-busy and there was still so much that needed to be done on the 11p-7a shift. Oh well...at least I'm off for a couple of days now.

Don't know if I want coffee or a sleeping pill! :spin: Still very wound up from work and it's cold out there so the ride home kept me awake, which is a good thing. the body is tired but the mind is still running. If I went to lie down I know that I wouldn't be able to fall asleep for awhile yet anyway.
I guess I'll peek around at the other posts. BBL

Good morning! Dayshift worker here. zzzzzzzzzzzz............thanks for the cofee Mary Ann, I need it.

"My" GN is taking the full load today, so I have to listen to all my coworkers and techs say "you're not doing anything, she's doing everything........." when in reality, I'm working my butt off for my own patients, and helping everyone else, they just don't notice. God forbid I sit down to chart and it's "you haven't done anything all day, must be nice to have an orientee......". That's the one thing I hate about being a preceptor. Rant over.

Goodmorning. OH hitting that 0500 hump where you get sleep during the 12 hr shift. Only 4 babies tonight. No new ones yet. One in L & D last we heard was 5-6 and I hope they are shipping the other one, she's a 28 weeker, YIKES. Hope everyone has a good day. For me I'm going home to sleep HOPEFULLY, unless my daughter is still sick. She's had a sore throat the last two days, yesterday she was running a low grade temp. POOR THING she missed her last baseball game.

    Good morning folks!!

Been a bit since I posted here. I haven't been at work in almost 2 weeks, yikes, huh? I took a day off a couple of weeks ago so we could go on a mini vacation for the weekend ..... went up to the white mountains, had a great time. I think I might have posted about that. Anyway, I had a nice stretch of days off after that, was supposed to work the last part of the week (last Fri. and Sat.). Well one of our dogs died on Friday, so I called off work so I could help my mom out with digging a hole to bury him in ...... and it was just a sad, depressing time all around ..... really sucks to lose a pet. I woke up with a sore throat that day too, and it just got worse ..... I think being outside and all the dirt/dust didn't help. Hardly got any sleep on Sat. so I called off that night too. Thankfully we're well-staffed lately, so I didn't feel too bad calling off. Then I had 4 nights off, I don't go back until tomorrow night (Thurs.). The last couple of days I've just been fighting this runny nose/sore throat/cough/stuffiness crud ..... but I'm starting to feel a bit better, so hopefully I'll feel totally better by Thurs. night when I go into work. I'm actually kinda looking forward to going back to work ..... not really looking forward to having to work 3 in a row, but it'll be nice to be back.

Whew, just felt like rambling, lol. I'm off to read my book and head to bed. I hope you're all well and have a great night/morning!

    Morning, All,
Still waiting to hear something back from the Auditor postion I interviewed for two weeks ago. In the meantime, the owner of this distressed assessment and counseling company I am currently doing temporary work for is hinting that she may want to hire me permanently. My son, who designed her computer system had a meeting with her last night and called me afterwards. She told him that she "really likes me". Why, I don't know, but I do know I don't feel comfortable working there. Besides the fact that I've never liked Psych, there is a lot of uncertainty as to whether or not the service I will be coordinating will be around much longer. Just a bad feeling, that's all. If the State calls and offers me the Auditor position, I would be a fool not to accept it. Besides the fact that I've had a lot of auditing experience, their benefits package is the icing on the cake. I used to work for the insurance company who managed the State employees health benefit plan, and it is the best I've ever seen. On the other hand, the HR person where I am working now told me that she can't afford health insurance for herself because the premiums would eat up a third of her salary. If she can't afford it, neither can I. I just have to decide what is best for me at this point, for I desperately need health insurance and a decent salary.

Near freezing down here this morning. It has been unusually cold for this time of year. I hope this is not a sign of things to come this winter.

Ya'll have a good day. Will let you know something, as soon as I hear something from the State.

Hello all! Just a quick G'day before I go to bed. It's wednesday night here. Brought DH home from hospital this afternoon. He's in considerable pain and discomfort. Has the arm in a sling to help support the shoulder. I'm tipping he'll experience a rather rough night tonight despite the pain meds.
Shoulder surgery is painful. I've nursed many over the years and they all experienced considerable pain.
Mary Ann, best wishes for your DH. Hope he can avoid surgery if possible.
I enjoyed my little "mini holiday at home alone" while DH was in the hospital. It was pure bliss having just me and the two dogs to worry about. I'm the kinda person who relishes periods of solitude. It was unfortunate how I got to enjoy that bit of solitude though. But, enjoy it I did! :chuckle
Hope you all enjoy your wednesday. I read where some are receiving snow! WOW! Hard to imagine as we here are experiencing a drought! Whatever the weather in your part of the planet, stay safe and well!
    Cheers...........
    Grace
