Hi Bethin! Packing is one good way to get rid of junk - I wish we could park a dumpster in front of our house for just one day. . . .

Hi to everyone - I'm back from LaLa Land.

Graduation was wonderful - I was of course very proud as my son walked across the stage.

We ate too too much good food for 4 days (BJ's Pizza is excellent - Chicago style). The museums in LA were great and the dinosaurs a big hit. Knott's Berry Farm was also the RIGHT decision. Way less money and there were hardly any people there - bad for Knott's but good for us. The weather was a bit brisk but sunny so all in all a very good day. And NO LINES to the rides.

We got home this afternoon at about 4-ish . . . left So. Cal at 5:10 to miss the bumper to bumper but I'll tell ya there was still lots of traffic.

Dianah - you deserve kudos for living in that mess. I know, I used to live there too and just did my best but now after living in the mountains for 23 years it would be very hard to go back.

I'm glad to be home - my son will be up by Thursday at the earliest and Saturday at the latest. Still have Christmas shopping to do. Have to take the van back tomorrow to Enterprise Rent-a-car.

I have no idea what you all have been up too - I'll have to read up . . . .

    Happy Wednesday to you all!

Steph, good to have you back!

Sounds like you had fun. I couldn't imagine the traffic in LA. There'd be so much cussing and flipping the bird that no kids would be allowed in my car.

Well, there were a few times my poor dh let slip a few "Army words" or as my father-in-law put it "Navy words". I guess all branches of the military are known for it's "words".

It really bothered both my dh and fil that motorcycles just breezed through the standstill traffic.

It was nice to get back home to these lonely rural roads and watch the sunset over Mt. Shasta.

Welcome back Steph. Sounds like so much fun that you'll have to take me next time. You must be pooped! Get some good sleep tonight.

Bethin, don't wear yourself out too much in one day or you'll be pooped, too. Sleep well tonight. BTW, I hate moving, too.

Everyone else, sleep well or have a peaceful day/night at work. Good night.

Bethin, good luck with the move! One thing at a time . . .

G'night Marilyn, I hope your little man's daughters may find peace. Bless you for being there for him and them.

Steph, we missed you! Glad you're back!
Lol, I certainly don't brave LA traffic; I avoid it at all costs!!! We know the side streets to take in our area, and we just don't venture West much (LA is about an hour or an hour and a half West of us)! I'm so glad you had a good time, and that Knotts was fun . . I've not been there for years (I hear a lot of the old stuff -- church, etc -- has been relocated or even put away. Those are the things dh and I would remember from previous visits . . . too bad. Lots of roller coasters for those who want, though, right?? ). We may have to make a trip over there sometime . . .

Yes, I agree about the motorcycles. Recently, driving home from Disneyland after dark, dh and I were in the Mini, in the diamond lane, with motorcyclists passing us ON THE DOUBLE-DOUBLE YELLOW LINE, to our RIGHT, and they were honking for us to move over and out of their way!!!! Dh just stayed toward the right side of the lane!! (he rode motorcycles for years, thought these riders were VERY rude . . maybe they're riding by "new" rules, I dunno . .. )

So, does your son have any after-college plans?

We had another busy day at work (Tuesday), and probably another is planned for tomorrow, Wednesday. There are two cases so far, but I heard through the grapevine that a few pts were admitted w/CP in the afternoon . . we'll see what the day brings.

    Y'all have a good one!

I was in downtown Seoul, South Korea (first time out of country) and traffic was at a standstill. My friend's husband's friend (they were stationed there in the army) was driving. He's sitting there like nothing is going on. Later I learned he grew up in NYC. People on these little mopeds were weaving in and out of stopped traffic and even driving on sidewalks. I said some four letter words that I had learned in Korean. There were 10 lanes across and that still wasn't enough lanes for all the traffic. After that, we took the trains and cabs. Let someone else handle the mess.

There's no way I could drive like that. Second time we went we took bus, trains and cabs. WE DID NOT DRIVE!!

I'm chicken to drive in another country . . . Our friends drove in Jamaica (British system), and I would NOT drive in Paris (seemed too, too RANDOM!!!)!! I get nervous driving in the Bay Area and in the LA area, mainly cuz I'm unfamiliar with the roads/freeway system.

Don't you hate when you know you're going to be super busy even before you get dressed for work? When that happens I dread going in - not because I don't want to work but because it's hard to give good care when you're sooooo busy. Best to go in with blinders on.

Look on the bright side, if they were admitted for r/o CP then maybe it'll already be ruled out by the time you get there.

I didn't personally drive - not allowed since I wasn't military but the roads seemed pretty straight forward. In Korea they drive at a minimum of 80mph. Actually, going 80 is slow.

I drove in Chicago and that was craziness! But I didn't know where I was going.

perhaps; but sometimes if an mi is ruled out, but there's a positive stress test, or the pt has had more recent cp, we'll end up cathing the pt.

and, sometimes we can have a horrendo schedule on paper, and the cases just peter out, one by one, for various reasons . . . one just never knows, and it doesn't do any good to fret about the schedule.

i'm convinced, too, that there is a cath lab gremlin who flits between the rooms, wreaking havoc with our equipment. yep. that's it: a gremlin.

thanks folks for the kind words of congratulations on our wedding anniversary today. so far it's been a relaxed and easy day. am looking forward to going out for dinner tonight.

some promising news for rain! they've predicted we'll receive thunderstorms within the next 24 hours! expected to receive several inches of that wonderful, life giving, wet stuff! praise the lord! hopefully good rains will extinguish the bushfires. the poor firefighters are worn out! here's hoping!

    enjoy your wednesday everyone!
    stay safe and well.
    cheers..............

Just a quick hello.. it's been BUSY at work as I knew it would be this week. To top it off, I hurt my back at a pt's house on Monday, and couldn't sit here at my puter without being in too much pain. Better now, though but still far from 100 %.

Steph, glad you're home safe. Oh.. I'm one of those that moves on up through standstill traffic on my motorcycle.

OK.. gotta go.. hope to get back this evening.. tomorrow it's off to Abingdon for annual dialysis recert... full day of it there. I'll be exhausted when I get in.

Hope you all have a great day !
