know what i've come to know? .... i miss out on all the fun!

due to the time difference, i'm mostly sleeping while you folks "up/over" are awake and posting, talking in 'chat' etc. by the time i get to read the posts on one days thread, it's already into the next day, (for you, not me!) does that make any sense?! i've come to realise, while it's 5pm here in oz today, (wednesday), it's still only early evening or whatever, tuesday, for those in the northern hemisphere! i mean we all knew that, but it's really getting to me lately!
i feel as though i miss out, most of the time. for example, i've just logged on, saw the tuesday thread, and yikes! look at how much i've missed out on being involved with!!! unless i log on several times throughout the day/night, i simply don't connect at the same time as all you wonderful people. i miss out! it's not always practical, or possible, for me to log on several times a day/night. i share this computer with dh, and, ds also uses our dial-up internet service!!!
and, therein lies another problem ..... dial-up internet!!! :angryfire it's the pits!!

anyway, 'nuff whining! but, you see my point, don't you? :yeahthat:

Wow, usually by 11 pm Pacific Time there are at least a few other posts on this thread. Today was my first day back at work after almost 3 weeks away. All sorts of odd things happened, but it was still a fairly good day. We'll see what the morrow brings. Grace, I don't have quite the time challenges that you do, but it seems that the bulk of the posting happens on an Eastern Time schedule. And I know what you mean about having to share a computer- my son has managed to disconnect his Internet connection (messing around with ports) and doesn't want to part with the cash to pay for a tech call. He keeps researching different solutions to try on his own, but I'm afraid this might be beyond his fairly impressive abilities. He knows he'll be in a heap-o-trouble if he messes this one up, though!

    good morning

grace thanks for starting the thread, 740am here in the UK and just about to get ready for work.

    Morning grace,mercyteapot and SueB

Busy day at work yesterday as one of the nurses rang in sick and I had to do her clinics, she has now rung in sick for the rest of the week so had to do some shuffling about with her clinics and patients onto my pages so others don't over book me with both my patients and hers

Not had chance yet to read yesterdays so will try and get to do that later

    bye for now

    Morning folks,
Grace, I sympathize with the dial-up...not long ago we were struggling with the same.

I have been watching the miner story on CNN. How very sad. I feel so bad for the families.

Hope everyone has a good day to come...off to bed and will catch up later.

Good Morning All! I too feel frustrated with the time difference, but at least it's only 6 hours between the UK and the East Coast. I guess, looking on the bright side, I get you in your afternoon and morning when you are not all tired?

It's tragic about those miners - I feel for them and their families - miscommunication be damned - surely no-one should have said anything until they were 100% sure?

Silverdragon102, hope your day isn't too hectic. I wish I was back there - have been off for 2.5 months now and it's driving me nuts - just not 100% yet so can't go back... oh well, a little longer shouldn't hurt I guess...

Those poor families. So tragic to have lost their loved ones, and to have had their feelings yanked around by what now appears to have been gossip run amok, just adds to their pain, I'm sure. I remember wondering how on earth so many people had it so wrong when Gore was announced the winner in 2000, but this "mistake" is even harder to comprehend.

Grace thanks for waiting until it was Wednesday somewhere in the US. That shows amazing restraint, but I do appreciate it.

I'm sorry you feel left out of the fun that goes one while you're asleep. Too bad I'm not the night owl I used to be, because we'd have fun overnight. But there are a few people posting in the wee hours of the morning here sometimes.

As for my day, I'm off the to gym, shopping and a bit more housework since I really didn't do a lot yesterday, other than the bathrooms, gotta sweep and mop.
