Vote For Sanjaya!

  1. Since Idol haters aren't supposed to post on the other thread ...

And I usually never watch the show but, I do think this whole thing is hilarious.

    I'm voting for Sanjaya ...

Any takers? Let's make this the worst Idol ever !!!

i'd rather not ruin the dreams of a truly talented person who really deserves the proper recognition of their talent

to me it is sad that this type of thing can actually happen and have an adverse effect on the outcome of the show

but it is a free world and to each their own

He is attractive, enthusiastic, and charming.
But he cannot sing on key.
I almost never watch the show but so far the winners could sing.

I don't hate American Idol, but I am still voting for Sanjaya.

I only want him to get to the final four. After that I'm pulling for LaKisha!

I think, as he's part of the last 12, he's already part of the final tour.

I disagree w/voting for him or the worst; it does the others who ARE more talented, a disservice and undermines the intent of the program. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail.

It is, however, "just" television. Those who are spotlighted now are getting exposure; whether good or bad, time will tell.

The "Most" talented people who go to the nationwide auditions never get picked.

Personally I think these kids are better off NOT winning the title. The management contract they lock them in to is HORRID. They fair better by using the AI exposure and getting a really good publicist and lawyer to get them a more lucrative deal.

I like to think that I can make a difference in someone's life. That's why I watch, and that's why I vote for the person I believe is truly the most talented and deserving.

I think the tour is the top 10 usually?

(But sunny makes a good point about the horrible contracts ... )

however, sanjaya is as cute as a button

but it is not a button contest

I think i'll spend better time at the club listening to a local jazz singer, who's working her way to fame instead of going the instant-pop-star-just-add-water route.

lol, yeah, it's not a button contest

maybe we could petition to rename it? hehe

He was kinda decent last night.

Ya know maybe he is winning because he is a decent young man. It is so rare that nice well adjusted people get highlighted on TV anymore!

Nope, I think the whole vote for Sanjaya thing is silly (not really the word I wanted, but I don't want to break any rules). The judges were idiotic to allow him to get to the point where it became part of the voting, so they're just reaping what they sowed.

That exactly it. The producers cherry pick people in those city auditons. They look for people who will boost TV ratings. Only some people who can sing get through.

If you are a really good singer, but don't have some 'hook' they turn you down.

Sanjaya got through in the beginning because he had a fairly decent singing voice (in private for the producers) and he had a quircky personality they could use on TV for ratings.
