Virtual models

  1. Ever seen a virtual model on clothing web sites? Pretty cool. You can morph the model to your own body type and try clothes on it.
www.landsend.com has one if you want to check it out.

Gosh, it really makes me want to go on a diet!!! I look as terrible there as I do in person.

Yup, I hear ya, Amy ER Nurse! But, at least you can get an idea of how the clothes might really look. I like that. I morphed mine down to my ideal weight, just for giggles and could really see the difference in how the clothes fit. I hope this idea catches on; I hate trying things on in a fitting room!

I know the Landsend site really well...if you are really honest with yourself when you design the model you will end up with clothes that truely fit well. Another cool thing about Landsend is they will make jeans and khakis to your specific measurements and NOT charge an arm and a leg (which is great for me...I have very narrow hips and thighs and HATE baggy pants).

I'll have to try a pair of the the custom fit jeans. I bought a bathing suit using the model and I love it. It really does looks the same on me as it did on the model for a chnage!

I did one at the Lane Bryant web site and I thought it was really cool! I looked so much like me.

Hey, reviving this thread with a link to the "My Virtual Model" homepage. From there you can shop at lots of shops that use the virtual models.

I have had a blast with this, and... Dood, I'm kinda hot! LOL

The website is SO flattering, too: "Fashion Guidelines: You look good in everything, so wear the styles you love!"

    Check it out! http://www.myvirtualmodel.com

Love Land's End...esp the kid's stuff. There's an "inlet" in Madison, WI that will give you a personalized item (that was returned) if it matches your initials. I got a 3 piece set FREE!!! WOOT!!! Don't know if they still do that though.

Looking at my virtual model though makes me sad.

I just did the virtual model one, and damn, I looked good! That is, until I turned it sideways.....sigh.

I can't get it to save my info though. I've tried 10 different user names and it keeps telling me there is something wrong with my identity.

I'm taking it personally, like the site doesn't have enough bandwidth to support my expanding girth....sniff.
