If Vancouver proffers a bid and it's accepted, I'm not going to get an even higher airport tax slapped on me when I have connecting flights through there, am I?

Can't rent that one-room rundown no-heat flat in the West End to the heroin junkies anymore? No problem! Here come the tourists!

    (grumble, grumble....)

I think they need MORE than a 64% yes vote. I may be wrong.

I say BLECH! We have wated a lot of money campaigning for the Olympics which we aren't going to get anyways, and even if we do that means we get to pay even more.

Well I just came back from Calgary and I think it's amazing what the olympics did for that city. So it is profitable (though rare) to profit from the whole thing).

As if this country (or Vancouver for that matter) really has all that extra money to through around. Put it into social programs, you dummies! Spend it on the addicts that you're displacing from the East-end!

I understand that the whole olympics bidding thing is really corrupt though, so obviously it has next to nothing to do with what the people of that city really want. Just what the bribers and bribees really want.
