Undecorated today

  1. I am wiped out! Took down the tree, put away all the ornaments and decorations, and weeded out the box o' wrapping paper (that ugly orange and black crap with starfishes on it - what was I thinking?!?) Also washed all the bedding, vacuumed and dusted the bedroom (including baseboards), pitched all the year-old stuff in my filing box, ironed, cooked up a storm, and went after the soap scum in the bathroom.

Think it might be time to have the ol' thyroid checked .

Anyone else on one of those New Year's cleaning jags?

    I wish . . .

My tree is still up and looking so pretty still. I love turning off all the lights in the living room except the tree's lights. Plus I bought these really pretty star lights for my window.

My house . . . .arrgghh. Today I asked my husband if he would mind if I brought in some dynamite and just blew the whole house up. We live in his grandparent's home that was built in the 1920's. It is a very cool old house with lots of charm but needs oh so much work. We've been here 16 years and I am ready to buy something smaller and that needs less work.

I'm on OB call starting at 3 a.m. and am hoping no one goes into labor. Please God. I should go to bed. But having too much fun here.

So. . .the answer to your question dear Nurse Ratched is no . . . but maybe tomorrow.

Gonna do all that stuff tomorrow.

I love having all the lights and the decorations up, but for some reason this year I'm ready to take everything down and put it away earlier than usual. I was actually ready the day after Christmas; in past years, I haven't gotten the un-decorating done till well after New Year's, because it's kind of sad and depressing, and winter is enough of a downer without having to put away the brightly colored lights and pretty shiny ornaments.

Not this year. Time to get the house back to normal, put the furniture back in its usual places, and set up my new bookcase and stereo system.......oh, maybe THAT'S why I want to take the decorations down! :chuckle

Wow what a job...I too took down my tree and decorations in the house....and then of course all the cleaning that comes with it. But I have my house back and it looks so large! Kind of depressing when you take the decorations down though isn't it? You know that christmasy feeling is gone and all that.

Took my stuff down today too. I was SO ready for it to come down and I am normally not like that. Now I am on a cleaning frenzy and we are working on the house to make it market ready. I have to plot a weekend to pull all the furniture out of the living room, paint, pull the old carpet out and have the installer in to put the new in :spin:

    Tree is still up.

I had a friend who kept his up until April. He was extremely lazy. Maybe I'll do the same thing. Maybe I won't ever take it down. Why stress over decorations. It looks nice here.

I got everything put away Fri/Sat and last night noticed my outdoor lights were still up...oops. Guess I'd better take care of that today.

The house seems so empty without my big beautiful tree...
