Ugh - It's been one of those days

  1. Why is it that if you go to the store and you really look good - nice clothes, hair done, make-up perfect, you never run into anyone that you know. But, leave the house with old baggy blue jeans, a t-shirt, flat unstyled hair, and no make-up and every one is there and sees you first! And not to mention, I was reading a bottle of stool softener when my friends surprised me. And in my cart, I had - are you ready for this - a Homer Simpson Chia Head. :imbar (It is for a joke gift, I swear !)

Then I come home and decide that I better shower and fix my hair and make-up before anyone else sees me, and as I get out of the shower, I hear my son calling for me. He's home from school earlier than usual, so wanting to see what is going on, I walk out of my room with a towel over my head, no make-up, and wearing my robe, only to find out that the mother of one of his friends who just moved to this area gave him a ride home so she could meet me, and she's standing in my kitchen, which by the way, is a complete disaster area. :imbar

Now, I am dressed, have my make-up done, and my hair is styled. I have to take the kids to get haircuts, and go to yet another store. How much do you want to bet that I will not see a soul that I know.

now you know.... ... we crappy dressers DO see you; we just slink away quicker & quieter in our house slippers and sweats....

I hate to whine or sound unhospitable, but I really hate it when people just show up at my house. It seems I am never prepared for the unexpected guests and it always leaves me feeling annoyed.

I think there is probably a Murphy's law that covers this, somewhere...
