TV Shows You Can't Live Without

  1. I'm sitting here watching my favorite show on the planet, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and I realize I don't know what I'm going to do when they take this show off the air. This is probably the last year . I will find it very hard to say goodbye to this show that spanned six, soon to be seven years of my life. The last show I felt this way about was "Silk Stalkings" on USA and I cried and cried when they took it away. What tv shows have become a part of your life, shows that you would miss very much if they were taken off of the air? By the way, is anybody else here a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fanatic?

ha ha ha! When I read the title of this thread I was about to log on to write in big letters: BTVS!!!!!!!!
I TOTALLY love this show! I too will miss it greatly when it retires next year!
I hope that they wrap up all the story lines so that we get a happy ending....unlike last year! I have read spoilers that suggest that Dawn is going to take over for SMG next year, and if that is the case, I'm not watching! Although, if Spike is anywhere to be seen, I will continue mmmmmm!
Can't wait til the 24th to see what he is like with a soul! Cried when the axed Tara, and the wedding fell through and Riley returned "married"! What a harsh season it was!
Looking forward to the comedy, and one liners that made my whole week! Yes, I have my fav one liner from that show and I am looking forward to saying it to my husband one day! :roll

    Hi Brita01

I'm not a Buffy fan, but the shows I do like and would terribly miss if they stopped running are as follows:

    American Idol

    BigBrother Shows

    Survivors

    Young and the Restless

Cartoons......an assortment of various ones that I like...

    Ed McMahon's "Next Big Star"

    The Cosby Show reruns

    The Fresh Prince reruns

    The Practice

    Monday night comedies

    The Newlywed Game Shows

***As you can tell....if the shows aren't REALITY or FUNNY, I'm usually NOT into them most nights! :chuckle

I really don't watch a lot of t.v. anyway, except for the above shows.

There are a few new shows coming up this Fall Season that I know I'll really like.....such as.....Cedric - The Entertainer's New Show. That guy truly cracks me up!

Spike with a soul. Hope he'll be nicer to Buffy than Angel was, even though in the back of my mind.....I still want Angel and Buffy together. I just can't get used to the Angel/Cordelia thing, cuz I remember how she was, never liking Buffy and all. By the way, I just thought it was absolutely PRICELESS when Willow turned bad. Gator, what is your favorite one liner from the show?

Cheerfuldoer, the one reality tv show I used to love was The Real World on MTV. I also watched the Young and the Restless at one time. The only problem with the Young and the Restless is, I come back to it a year later and somebody who was a baby is now a teenager! Glad time doesn't move like that in real life.

Really, my TV has been gathering dust since I got my lovely computer [kisses monitor].

    On a non-regular basis I do catch:

    Friends reruns
    Simpsons (whoda guessed?)
    MASH reruns
General Hospital & Days (only when I am awake and home during the day -- which is rare)

Will watch Survivor Thailand when it starts. [note to self: buy new VCR before this starts have class Thurs eve]

    Oh yeah:
    Debbie Travis Painted House
    Sunday Night Sex Show
    Makeover Story
    CSI
    Law and Order SVU
    Queer as Folk

Brita......I sometimes watch "Real World", too. My 26 year old daughter got me interested in it since she likes it, too. When she's watching that show, I can't talk on the phone with her. :chuckle

I also love to watch ER and FRIENDS! Looking forward to the new seasons on both shows.

    Law & Order (all versions)
    ER
    Golden Girls

Hmmmm.... I think that's it for my absolute favorites. There are others, but I don't plan to watch anything other than these.

My two favorite shows are Gilmore Girls and Will and Grace. Since I'm back in school, I guess I'll have to record them and catch up during the Christmas break.
