    Hi! I guess not, Tweety!

I'll be studying for my 3rd Chemistry exam that is tomorrow, and I promised my lil' one that I'd bring McDonald's for lunch & take her to the book fair at school today. Yesterday, I spent 4 hours in the tutoring center, studying and helping other classmates. Hopefully it will pay off. The instructor told us "Hess' Law" was *definitely* on the exam, and could be worth "say 10-15 points". So, I'm thinking that just *MAY* be our 15 point bonus question.

So, off to study, have a wonderful day, to you Tweety, and to all the "tardy" ones.

Y'all have a "mighty fine" day, ya hear?! lol

'ullo! just wonderin' how you all are. i will pass on breakfast, but keep the coffee going for tonite.

for once it was a decent night. not too many "night owls"....only one, who couldn't sleep for the life of himself. oh, well.

fun2care.....good luck in chem. i hated asking my dad for help; with him being a chemist, i didn't want him to see what an idiot his daughter was.

hey, tweety. hope you have a good one.

to siri.....am thinking of you. hope all goes well soon!

    until later.....peace and love

Wow, quiet here this mornin'! Well, except here in my cube. The guy in the office next to me seems to rely upon four-letter words for most of his vocabulary and spends much time ranting. I'm amazed that he's risen to the level he has with the way he treats people. Luckily I don't work with him so never have to actually interact with him, but DO have to listen to him.

Anyway, not much going on here. Had another ridiculous commute today... left the house at 6:20 to catch the 6:40 bus to Boston, which SHOULD take less than an hour, but recently the traffic situation has been abominable. Today didn't make it to the office until 8:50! :angryfire This is really beginning to wear on me. I so sincerely hope that I get accepted to the nursing program that starts in May! Must get working on that app.

Have my human growth & development class tonight. I wish I was looking forward to it more. The subject matter is absolutely fascinating, but the class is somehow lacking. Oh well, just need to keep plugging away.

Hello Tweety and thanks for starting the GM thread!

Fun2Care, good luck with studying. I loved chemistry... probably the best class I've ever taken A lot of that was the professors, though, they were the best!

Mornin' suebird.. and to all those who come along.

    Will check in later!

    Hello Everyone!!

Goodness. I cannot believe the GM thread lately. Short and getting started later and later.

How are you, Fun2Care? Hope you have a sweet day. Good luck studying today. So, you are tutoring in chem???

Hi, Tweety. Thans for starting the GM thread. (where's breakfast)???? Work today or are you off? I haven't checked your personal agenda today.

Hello, suebird. I didn't see any breakfast........you are seeing things, hon. Oh, yes........that cuppa joe is right here beside me, too.

To everyone to come later, please have a great day. I will see ya'll very soon.

I'm great, siri, ty for asking. Hope things get back to normal quickly for you.

As for chem...not officially...lol Several of us were in the tutoring center yesterday working on the extra credit homework. The instructor had to leave in the middle of helping one student b/c the instructor had to go to lunch & then he had a class.

The student came to me, and said, "*Fun2Care*, Mr.*oX said to ask you to help me. He said you'd know how to do this." I was thinking.....boy did Mr. *oX get his students mixed up!!!! lol...actually I had already worked that problem, luckily, so I helped him with that one, and a couple more.

We were all helping each other on the stuff we just learned on the same day. (Quantum numbers) I just got a kick out of the instructor sending someone over there to me for help b/c he had to leave, and the actual chem tutor was busy with another student. Hours later the instructor came back & I was helping another student. lol

Hopefully, my going over the problems over and over with a handful of students will help me to remember how to do them tomorrow on the exam.

arciedee: Chemistry is a class I love to hate. lol I'm actually enjoying it...in a strange, sick humored way. LOL

Suebird: LOL.....Well, I was hoping my dd would have chem this semester in order to help me. lol Hopefully she'll get it & not need my help next semester...I don't want to live chemistry all over again! haha

HI and happy Tuesday to the daily thread regulars ( and irregulars, too). I haven't been on this thread in a while! I brought coffee and fresh fruit. I know, you really wanted Krispy Kreme, but I'm still on the Diet from He**.

Siri, I'm hoping things are looking a little better. Fun2, remember: better living thru chemistry. Arcie, toss a Thesaurus over the cubicle wall, if it hits him on the head, so much the better. (((((((Tweety))))))) Sue--fresh coffee will be ready when you wake up!

    mornin' y'all

just woke up. had a good nights sleep after ages.

i've promised myself to stay out of the ce threads in general. i find something intersting, i'll share. i'm not going to be posting there on a regular basis. i'm tired of going over the same tired old regurgitated tripe over and over and over and over and over and over again. i'm getting tired of the vapid, formulaic responses to the same old topics.

i'm going to devote more time to getting myself into better shape than i am in now.

i'm going to dedicate more time to find an electronics mechanic for my car i'm going to dedicate more time to the grassroots campus organisation we are trying to promote - campus libertarians.

last but not least - i'm going to find out, once and for all --- how the devil do you differentiate between qualitative research and quantitative research?! :chuckle:chuckle

my room looks relatively sanitised. i need to call my old landlord and ask for my security deposit. need to return the old router and collect back the 100 quid. need to call a buddy of mine and ask if he is still interested in my punching bag and i'll sell it to him.

need to study for a big, bad exam on friday :uhoh21:

    *sigh* :stone

    gotta go....

don't feel bad. my father graduated a chemist and till this day he seems perplexed by how his progeny seem to suck at a subject which according to him is easier than baking a pie! :chuckle

i always tell him "father, i bet you couldn't do a discetion on a frog as well as i can" :d

Ah premenrs, you just made me laugh... thank you so much for that. I'm sure I'll be writing more stories about my fellow office-workers. Most are perfectly good neighbors, but there are a couple doozies that make me want to jump up and scream.

Fun... I never expected to like chemistry. I remembered being completely baffled by it in HS. :uhoh21: But I tried to go into it with an open mind (and was also pre-med at the time so determined that I HAD to get an A) and found myself pleasantly surprised. Truly fascinating stuff.

Roy, I don't believe I've talked to you yet, hello! Good luck studying and with your other goals... must get a mechanic for my car, too. The turn signals and reverse lights are being tempermental. Luckily still under warranty. Unfortunately car will not misbehave on command so am worried I'll take it in and they'll say there's nothing wrong... grr.

Hello Tweety! This is the latest this thread has ever been started isn't it? Thanks for getting it going this morning. Hope today is filled with good things for you!

Hello Fun2Care...sounds like you have Chemistry down pat if your Chem Professor refers other students to you for tuturing. Where were you when I took Chemistry? Have fun at the bookfair with your dd. I love the smell of new books!

Hi suebird...glad your work night went well. Hope you're snoozing already and wake up well rested. Are you off tonight?

Hello arciedee...don't know how you handle that long ride to your job. Hope things get better with your office coworker. Have you tried telling him to his face in a nice yet assertive way to stop cursing on the job? I think I'd have to say something. Why does your boss tolerate that behavior from an employee anyway? Yikes! Have fun in class later today. Human Growth and Development was one of my favorite psych classes in college.

Hi Siri ((((hugs)))) How's your dd and family doing today? They remain in my prayers today.

Hello Sandra....good to see you posting here! I don't do coffee, but I do love fruit. Thanks for sharing it with us! Have a good day!

Roy, Roy, Roy....wassup buddy? You're a riot ya know! Luv your list of resolutions for the day. You do have a way with words ya know.

    Hi!

I have the exact same trouble with my electrical systems! I take it down there and it seems to be working fine! :angryfire

    Stoooooooooopid car! :chuckle

Whoops! Gotta run! Getting late for class
