Try this nasty concoction

  1. Got gallbladder problems? A guy at work told me about an Alternative Medicine concoction.

1/4 c lemon juice + 1/4 c extra virgin olive oil. Slug it down then lay on your right side for 30minutes.

Man that stuff reeked!! I got it down and managed not to puke, but I was nauseated for a couple hours. Nasty !!!

Maybe I'm an idiot for trying it, but I have not had any gallbladder pains since I took it yesterday afternoon. I hope it works 'cuz I really don't want to have surgery.

Anyone one heard of this working? What about Milk Thistle? Does that work?

OHMYGOSH!!!! I can't take liquid meds without becoming part of the recycling effort....

Nyquil liquid caps are the best invention since chocolate.

MY question is whether it HAS to be virgin oil.........And Angel Baby, are you telling us that you are a nurse who cannot swallow liquids???I just don't know what else to say to that...(Well, I DO, but have a dirty mind so probably shouldn't)

Before trying this please refer to one of the gall bladder flush websites. You are supposed to drink lots of apple juice and eat green apples a day or two before drinking the olive oil. Have talked to a couple of people who say it really works. Me- I went ahead and drank the olive oil and lemon concoction before cleaning myself out with the apple juice. Puked my guts out for hours. And the smell...

Milk thistle is an excellent digestive herb that no gallbladder sufferer should be without. Also another indispensible herb is dandelion root. Did you know that the dandelion is not native to this country? The europeans brought it over as a medicinal herb. It was used as a tonic. There is a lot of useful information on the internet about both of these herbs. Good luck!

funny you should mention the lemon juice/olive oil thing. just recently we had a patient who's daughter swore that's how she kept her mom off dialysis for the last year!!!!! and to think,...we all just thought she was crazy!!!!!!:d

I had a lap chole in October. I felt 2000% better when I woke up from the pain (could have been from the Demerol, but it was still wonderful) and no nausea!!!!

You are more daring than I am. I could never drink that concoction. I had enough trouble with downing tasted like Revere Beach at high tide. (If you are from around Boston, you'll understand.)

I hope you feel better soon!

Nittlebug - do you have to drink it? Can you add garlic and pour it over a nice salad with lots of different greens?
